Chapter 3 - its been a month

*steph pov*

It's been about a month since Alex moved to Haven, and she's already changed my life. We hangout everyday to every other day, her brother is around a lot as well but recently he's been hanging around Charlotte a lot.
I'm gonna be honest here, I think I'm catching something for Alex. I mean, we've spent so much time together, I can't see my life without her anymore. I brought this up to Ryan a few times and he keeps teasing me saying that I caught feelings for the new girl.
Ryan ended up telling Gabe and now their trying to convince me to take her out on a date, maybe even to the festival. I want to, but every time I try to speak about it, I can't get the words out.
Right now Alex and I are in her apartment playing video games.
"Ha! That's another win for me" Alex says throwing her hands up.
"You're just lucky, watch, this round I'll win" I say
"You've said that for the past three rounds, just give it up" She chuckles. I swear I can't get enough of that
"Fine fine, let's make a deal then" I say finally getting some courage.
"You win, I won't stop bothering you, you get a trophy as best Rocket League player and I will be the loser" I suggest.
"And if you win?" She says putting her fist under her chin
"You let me take you out on a date, see how things go, if it goes bad, we won't do it again, if it goes well.. well let's just say I get to call you something different" I chuckle
"Fine, your on" she says grabbing her controller.
She played rough when it came to this game, but I noticed she was getting slower in the game as well.
"Don't go easy on me Alex, this is a deal remember?" I laugh
"Hmmmm but what if I don't want to win after what you suggested" she says missing the ball as I hit it in.
At this point I went silent, I had no words. Did she want to go on a date with me? Did she like me?
"Ahh oh no, you win" Alex says as the timer hit 1
"You went easy on me" I say standing up and putting my controller down. She gets up and walks over.
"I may have gone easy, but I can always retry on winning that trophy" she says stopping about two feet from me.
"Why.. did you go easy?" I ask
"You tell me" she says walking towards the kitchen.
"You.. actually wanna go on a date with me?" I ask
"Sure! I bet it'll be fun" she says pouring two shots since we take one every ten rounds.
She walks back over and hands me a shot and we both take it.
"So" she says placing the shot glass down. "Where would you take me?" She asks
"I um-" I felt my face get a little heated. "I was thinking the spring festival" I scratch the back of my head.
"Ooo sounds fun" she says walking back to the kitchen area and placed out two shots in the sink.
How can she be so... confident during this, I'm a gay mess....
"You wanna go on the roof for some fresh air?" She asks
"Sure, I'll be right behind you" I say as she walks towards the stairs.
I watched as she walked up. God damn it, why does she have to be so fucking hot. I can't even be myself around her anymore. Just a gay fucking mess.
"Calm down Steph. She's waiting for you on the roof." I say to myself
I walk up the stairs and went onto the roof. She was over on the side leaning on the wall. She was looking over the town.
"Pretty view huh?" I say walking up and leaning next to her.
"It sure is, I never knew that such a small town can look so pretty" she responds.
"I think it's mostly thanks to Eleanor and Riley's flowers around town" I chuckle and that caused her to giggle.
"So.. when's the festival?" She asks
"It's in about three days, look over there. They start set up tonight" I say pointing to the park area.
"This happens every year?" She asks
"Yup, I've only been here for about a year and a half. But over that time I've learned a lot about the town" I reply
"Wow... must be nice, I just wish I found this place sooner" she says
"If you would've found this place sooner, you wouldn't have met me and y'know. Get asked out" I chuckle
"Why's that?" She asks
"Think about it, if you were able to go back in time and change one thing, it changes things about everyone. Let's say you were to say no to me and won that game. We would've stayed friends and who knows. Maybe you'd find a guy to date and start a family with him. If you change one thing, it changes it for everyone" I go on and say
"Wow, what you just said there, was the nerdiest thing I've ever heard" she says and we both laugh
"You haven't heard enough from Ryan then, he loves nerding out on nature" I say
"Nerding?" Alex laughs more
"Hey, it's the best way I can say it" we both laugh some more.
Man... I love this girl..
