Chapter 5 - the start of something new

*Alex pov*

I heard birds chirping and I flutter my eyes open, I move my hand only to find stuck in another's. I looked down as much as I could to see someone is holding my hand. Last nights memories started to come back to me, the festival, the kiss, the dancing, and... Steph. I'm actually dating Steph now!
I got really happy over this thought that I didn't realize Steph had woken up.
"What's got you smiling this morning?" She asks and I look back at her seeing a smirk on her face.
"Just new memories" I reply.
Then I felt something... an emotion. It hasn't really acted up here. Not yet at least. But this morning I feel one. But I've never felt it before. Joy.. Steph was feeling Joy.
I turn my body to face her, hoping to see why she's feeling this way... and I was able to.
She was happy about last night, about the date, the kiss, the cuddles that came afterwards, everything about last night.
I looked up into her eyes before shifting up to plant a kiss on her lips.
I felt as her arms wrapped around me, pulling me in to deepen the kiss. There was many kisses shared, long and passionate ones.
The best part is, I have my first girlfriend. I've never had the best luck with relationships, so I'm glad Steph is my first girlfriend.
She's done a lot for me this past month. She even left work early one day because she heard I was sick. She worries so much about me. So being here right now, being able to kiss her, is the best feeling I've ever had.
I guess you could say I'm feeling Joy as well.

About two hours later

Steph and I were still in bed, cuddling. She doesn't start work until later since everyone is taking down the festival decorations today.
I was snuggled up into Steph's side and Steph's arms were wrapped firmly around me.
"So.. does this mean I can officially say that your my girlfriend?" Steph chuckles
"Why not? I had already planned to call you that" I say snuggling as close as I can get to her.
I felt her shift a little then I felt a kiss on my head. I saw my chance and planted a kiss on her neck. Though, I did find out because of that, she is sensitive there.
I leaned up and looked her in the eyes, she was blushing, and her eyes were lust.
"S-Sorry, not a good spot?" I chuckle nervously.
"I-It's okay, and yea.." she says looking away from me.
At this point she was blushing like crazy, I tried to read her emotions but everything was too crazy.
I wanted to know what she was feeling. But even trying to cuddle up next to her isn't working. So I though maybe I was left with two choices. 1. To bring her face back and kiss her, or 2. Kiss the same spot.
I wasn't sure of what to do. I laid my head back down in her shoulder, only to feel her tense up. I looked back up at her and her eyes were closed, she was also sweating a little.
"Do... you want me to move away?" I ask hoping that I'm not making her uncomfortable.
"No, no, your fine. I just...." She stopped
She looked like she was wanting to say something, but couldn't get the words out.
I leaned up and hovered over her.
"You know you can tell me anything... right?" I assure her. She nods. "Then what's wrong?"
She looked away again then looked back. She raised her arms up to have her hands behind my head and I was pulled in to a kiss.
I didn't mind it, I liked this. Being able to kiss her.
I felt something on my bottom lip and I gasped at the sudden move. Then I felt it in my mouth.
Her tongue started to explore my mouth, I couldn't help but moan into it, after all besides her tongue, her hands were moving up my back.
I felt as her hand made it's way up my back and under my shirt. Then she stopped. She broke the kiss and looked me in the eyes.
"S-Sorry, I don't know what got over me.." she says with a sadden look.
I didn't know what to say, so I just laid back down, snuggled up against her.
"Can we just stay like this... until you go to work.." I ask
"Sure" she says wrapping her arms around me.
I liked this new warmth. Being snuggled up to her like this...
"Hey Alex.." I hear her speak up.
"Yes Steph?" I look up.
She hugs me tighter.
"For a while, I thought I wouldn't be able to find love again.. did you know that?" She says
"Again? What do you mean?" I ask leaning up a little.
"I dated this girl a while ago, her name was Izzie. We had a band together, I was happy. But things didn't end so well... since then I didn't think I would find love again.. I set up a dating app to see how that goes.. but just ended up deleting it.." she pauses for a second. "Until I met you.." she says looking down at me. "Even from the day we met, my heart raced when I was with you... I couldn't get you off my mind even after trying so hard to" She pauses again. "I guess what I'm saying is, I'm glad we met, and I'm glad I'm holding you right now, sharing kisses and just... being able to call you my girlfriend.. I.." she stops again. I toke my chance and planted a kiss on her lips. It was long and passionate but I pulled away.
"I love you too Steph" I say looking into her eyes.
She smiled and kissed me again, this time many kisses were shared. Deep, loving and passionate ones.
I'm glad I decided to move to Haven and meet Steph. I can't imagine my life without her anymore
