Chapter 4 - the date

*steph pov*

I put on my best flannel and boots. I started pacing around my room just thinking I'm what I should say when I greet her.
"Fuck it, let's just go" I say grabbing my phone only to get a message. I look down to see the dating app that I though I had deleted. It was a message from some one I didn't know
"Hey cutie, noticed you have been active in months. Maybe we could hook up?" The message said. I got off the app and just deleted it once and for all.
I don't need a dating app anymore, I have the love of my life here in Haven with me.
I walked out of my house and headed to the festival. When I got there, barely anybody was there. Maybe I was just early. I walked over to the tin of beers and popped one open. I toke sips as I looked out to the water. I really hope tonight goes well, I don't want to screw this up.
Soon enough I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turn around to be faced to Alex. I look her up and down and noticed she was wearing a skirt.
"Shit... you wear skirts?" I say quietly.
"Only on special accessions" she says and walks closer to give me a hug. I hug her back.
"We're here a bit early, so do you maybe wanna go sit by the dock and enjoy the view?" I ask
She chuckles
"Sure" she says and grabs my hand so I could lead her. I smile at this action and we walked to the dock
She sat down first and I followed shortly after. I kept one leg up so I can keep my balance, the last time I didn't.. I actually fell into the water.. somehow.
"Y'know Steph.." she starts and I look at her. "You didn't have to take me on a date. I would've said yes if you just asked me to be your girlfriend" she says looking at me.
"I- uh" I felt my face get red again. "I just.. wanted to show you that I really wanted this.. like how normal couples sorta show their feelings. They go on dates" I managed to say.
She giggles and leans into me.
"I'm sure tonight will be fun either way though. Dancing or not" she says in a sweet voice.
I raise my hand and played with the back of her hair hoping she didn't mind.
"Well I'm glad you let me take you out" I say leaning my head into hers.
Finally I heard music start playing.
"Heh, look at that, the festival finally began. Everyone got here pretty fast." I say and she leans back up
"Shall we head over then?" She says getting up.
"Sure. Why not" I say getting up as well and holding out my hand. She takes it and we walk over.
All the couples were sorta just dancing in the middle, even Gabe and Charlotte. I look over at Alex and gave her a nod and we make our way to the middle. She looked a little nervous and I laughed
"Come on, just be yourself, everyone's gonna be drunk soon anyways" I say waving my hand around making the crazy sign.
She giggled and started twisting her lower body.
"There you go" I say joining her.
Many songs and many dances went by, but it was time for the couple part of the night. Where two slow dance songs play and every couple slow dances with each other.
When the song started playing, I held out my hand and Alex toke it. I brought her close to me and I wrapped my arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around my neck.
"So?" I ask
"So what?" She asks
"How'd I do?" I ask chuckling. She giggles before looking back up at me.
There was a few minutes of staring into each other's eyes before she leaned closer and planted a kiss on my lips. Stunned I stopped swaying.
I grip harder around her waist as I closed my eyes as leaned into the kiss. The kiss was long and passionate. And after the kiss was broken, we leaned our heads against each other and started swaying again.
"I take that as tonight was fun then.." I say quietly but loud enough for her to hear over the music
"Tonight has been amazing, thank you Steph" she giggles.
"Your very welcome Chen" I smile.
We swayed for the rest of this song and the next song. Then decided to call it a night.
Since Alex's place was the closest, we decided to crash there. I was originally gonna crash on the couch, but I was dragged into bed to cuddle. This was the first time since the day we met, that I'm cuddling with her. She was shorter than me, so spooning her was amazing. Because of how worn out we were. We just completely passed out.
Another night, a new beginning.
Did I mention that I love this girl?
