Luz pov

I had invited Amity over to work on homework that evening; Little did I know something else was going to happen.

(after part one)

I've had a crush on Amity for a while now, it seems weird but we've grown really close within the past few months. She was telling me she had astraphobia, so I thought I could tell her some of my fears too.

"If it makes you feel any better, I have some funny fears," I say, reaching for an Azura book.

"Really? Like what?" Amity says, curious.

"I'm actually really scared of bees, but I don't know if there are any on the Boiling Isles, so you probably don't know what they are..."

"Well, we have fire bees, but they probably aren't the same as your kind," Amity says, breathing a laugh into her words.

"That, my friend, sounds terrifying." I say with nervous laughter.

"Yeah, they aren't the best thing to run into. Anyway, which book do you have?" she says.

"Oh, I just grabbed the first one I saw! Looks like... book two!"

I laugh. I can't stop thinking about her smile, and how happy we are around each other. Maybe she likes me too? I doubt it...

"Are you going to sit?" Amity questions.

Oh, I didn't realize I was still standing there...

"Oh yeah, heh. Sorry!"

After we read the book together, Amity looks pretty tired; I get up to put the book back as she starts to fall asleep. I lay down in my makeshift bed, and I hear a noise. Amity turns over and hugs me! Did she do that on purpose? I hope she did...

I wake up. What time is it? I look at the clock; 1 am. I get up to get water and use the bathroom. When I come back, and Amity is awake.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"

"No, you're fine. I always wake up around this time to get water or whatever else I might need," Amity replies.

"Oh, good."

I lay back down on the bed, and Amity does too. I'm tired, but I don't really want to sleep right now. I feel her turn to me.

"I... need to tell you something..."
