My First Crush

Chapter 4

I woke up Monday morning at about 11:00. It feels nice sleeping in again. I roll out of bed and pull on some skinny jeans and a tshirt. I go to the bathroom to freshen up, enough to make me NOT look like a zombie. Then i head downstairs for some breakfast.

I hear the TV on and see my mom is watching The Mentalist, as usual.

She hears me in the kitchen and turns around, "Its about time you get up!"

I just roll my eyes and pour some cheerios, "Come on! Give me a break! Its summer vacation!" I smile.

She just shrugs and goes back to her show. I take my breakfast back upstairs and eat the rest as i look out my window at the warm outdoors.

I play on my computer for about an hour or so and hear my text message tone. I pick it up, it was Jess. She should just now be on her lunch break at her job. She only has to work Monday/Wednesday/Friday and only until like 2 since she works at her mom's shop. So she gets to have her summer but also gets some cash.

"OMG! U would never b able to guess wat happened this morn!!!"

"OMG! What?"

I got a reply almost instantly, "ok so this morn one of my coworkers got fired for some reason! And now we need some1 to take her place!"

"Ok? So wat does this have to do with me?" I replied.

"Well i was thinkin since u were lookin for some summer cash u could work here! It would b AWESOME! U kno, with me and ADAM :)"

She was right. It WOULD be awesome if i got to work there.

I reply, "yeah! So what do i do? How do i get the job?"

"Well i can put in a good word for u and everything and my mom might start by just trying u out for a day. But i kno u will pass ;P Ill txt ya if ma mom wants u to come in weds"

"Yay! Ok. Ttyl girl! Thanks SO much!"

"No prob. And i already told adam id ask to c if u could work here and he seemed pretty excited... ;) lolz. Ttyl"

Whoa. Adam was excited?! Thats enough for me!!! I did a little happy dance. Ok, so i have to prepare for Wednesday. This is the best summer ever!! I went downstairs and told my mom the exciting news.

The next day i woke up from my text message tone. It was Jess.

"OMGOMGOMG!!! My mom said she would luv it if u worked here!"

"EEEEEPPP!!!!!!" I screamed while also typing my screaming noises.

"EEEEEPPP!!!!!! I cant wait!!!!! I LOVE you!!! Ill c u tomorrow... coworker ;)"

I jumped up and down a little then quickly started running around my room planning tomorrow in my head. I wen to my closet to pick out tomorrow's clothes. Something cute... Aha! Some skinny jeans with a cute yellowish flarey tank top and a jean material jacket. All with my converse of course! I was SO excited!

Wait a minute. Im missing something. Of course! What job will i be doing?! I think thats an important part of a job. I quickly texted Jess and asked her what i was doing.

She replied, "Pretty much the same thing as me..."

Her mom owns a consignment shop. So Jess would usually just do the register and putting things up on shelves and hooks and such. Not that hard and pays well. This is going to be easy. And fun.

I go throughout my day as normal. Pretty much just watching Dr. Who all day. Best. Show. EVER!!! I watched that all day until i looked at the clock and it said 9:23. I should probably get to bed. Ive got a big day in front of me!
