"Do I really need to apologize? He was at fault to, y'know?" Rei insisted for the fourth time ever since they got in the car, driving to the dojo.
Mother Ahashi gaze at the rear view mirror in the driver's seat to look at her daughter who's at the back seat together with Damon. She sighed as she spoke, "My decision is final. You'll say sorry today." emphasizing that the younger will not get away.
Rei groaned inaudibly to herself for not having control in the matter, being stubborn as always. She wrapped her arms around her middle while looking outside the side window, seemingly observing the cars driving by.
Damon, who noticed his little sister's preoccupied mind, tried to catch her attention quietly. "Psst.." he hiss whisperly at the younger while poking her forearm gently.
Rei felt the touch so she turned her head to the direction where her brother is sitting. She eyed him questionly, wondering what does he want. As a reply, the older just motion her if she is okay.
With that, Rei look at her brother more weirdly. He obviously knows she's not okay given her current circumtances with the 'apologizing' thingy. Being not okay is an understatement actually, she's seething.
"Just checking... I don't like seeing you like this." Damon mumbled the last part softly, making Rei almost didn't catch it. Almost. Rei looked quite shock with what she heard, nearly questioning if her ears heard that correctly.
'Wow' she thought.
After moments of silence, it finally sinked in. Her brother was being honest and cared for her. Seeing this as an opportunity to tease him, Rei smirked playfully.
"Aww.. so you do care, brother. Well no worries, I'm fine now knowing that you care about my feelings." Rei grin teasingly at her brother while dramatically placing her hand to her chest, adding to the act.
Flustered, he didn't know how to respond as he stutters, "Ugh.. wha- I mean! Stop teasing me, Reina!" face turning red by the second.
The younger burst out laughing, finding the older's flustered reaction funny. Damon sulked, not liking the situation one bit. It seems that the two people at the front noticed and questioned.
"Hm? What's funny, Rei?" their mother asked, looking at the front view mirror once again.
Rei couldn't form words as her laugh was heard in the car while Damon pouted, embrassed. Seeing this, their mother and eldest understood and smiled.
At the Dojo
"Good morning, Mrs. Ahashi! Welcome to my dojo again" Mr. Dalziel greeted joyfully.
"Good morning to you as well, Mr. Dalziel" the female greeted in reply.
"Let's go inside, kids" the male invited but before he could reach out his hand, Mr. Ahashi halted and said, "Can I go inside as well? I also want to see the interior of your dojo and how my children perform. Only for today, if you don't mind, Mr. Dalziel?"
"Of course" Mr. Dalziel replied with no hesitation in his voice.
Once they were inside, students in pairs train in their respective places. Some were holding kicking pads while their partners launch towards them. Another pair was sparring with their Gi on, taking in proper stance. Everyone look quite busy in their own worlds.
"As you can see, Mrs. Ahashi, we specialized in strictly training our students to become the greatest versions of themselves. I can assure you that your children are in good hands-" Mr. Dalziel was cut off by his nephew, history repeating itself with the same 'no running in the dojo' rule.
