Hard life (prequel to StaZZ2001's "The Twisted Life")

The First Glimpse

Axel ran into his dad's room and woke him up. His father looked at him and said" what?". "We're under attack!" Axel bellowed. His fathers eyes widened and he grabbed his axe and ran outside. Axel ran after him. When he got outside he saw the rest of the village standing at the gate, weapons drawn and ready. His father rushed to the front and readied himself. Mary ran toward him and stood next to Axel and buried her face in his chest, not wanting to see what was about to happen. Axel hugged her and looked at the gate, waiting for the enemy to come through. Axel hears the sound of bows being drawn. He looks upward and sees the arrows arching toward them. "Lookout" he yells but he is too late. His father is hit by an arrow and falls on his back. Other people are hit by arrows too. "Dad!" he yells, half crying. He runs to his fathers side and looks at him. The arrow hit him in the chest, right by the heart. He is bleeding bad too. Axel picks up his fathers head and cradles it in his arms. "I love you dad!" Axel whispers in his ear. David says something but Axel can't here it. Axel puts his ear by his fathers mouth and tells him to say it again. He hears three faint words, words that would determine his future "kill...them...all" are his fathers last words as he dies. Axel stands up, still heartbroken. He picks up his fathers axe and bellows his fathers last words "Kill them ALL!". Axel runs towards the gate and smashes it open, not even noticing the grey aura around him. He charges forward at lightning speed at swings his axe at the horde of Skandians. He cuts down the front four with one swing. The Skandians slowly retreat backwards. He turns around to look at the villagers and says "C'mon lets end this!". With a load cry the rest of the village surges forward after the now running Skandians. Axel was at the front, now moving at lightning speed towards them. He catches up to the back and starts engaging them. A few moments later the rest of the village is their and engaging them. Axel runs to the front of the hoard and stands their, waiting. He looks at the rest of the villagers as they form a circle around the Skandians. "Now you see what happens if you attack us!? We retaliate! Now go and tell your people to never comeback!" Axel raises his voice and shouts "leave one alive, kill the rest!". Axel jumps into the remaining horde, ending their pathetic lives. He slashes through them, satisfied at each ones death. He hears a high pitched scream and whips around, looking towards it. He sees Mary on the ground, a Skandian standing over, poised for the kill.

Mary is about to stab a Skandian in the back (Lol, anyone else get that?) when he whips around and pins her. He stands above her, raising his sword to strike. Ma y closed her eyes and looked away. She waited for the blade to pierce her skin and kill her, but instead she heard a loud clang. She opened her eyes to look and saw Axel standing their, blocking the sword with his axe. Moving forward Axel pushed the man back and cut his head off. Stepping away, Axle looked at the place where the horde had been to see only one Skandian left. "Leave him alive! Go and tell your people what will happen if you come here again!" Axel bellowed before he passed out.
