The wind rushed through Midoriya's hair, ruffling it as he sprinted full force through the streets of Musutafu.
'Hurry the hell up kid! We're gonna be late!' Odei's voice rings out through the boys head.
Bystanders gasped and exclaimed as Midoriya pushed his way past the people in front of him. "Sorry!" He said repeatedly as he rushed through the sea of people. His legs still ached from their last day of training.
'Don't apologise to these idiots! Just run!'
'They aren't idiots! They're people who i'm bumping into cause i'm late!'
'Tch. Fuck 'em. They were in our way. Now hurry it up! We're gonna be late to the exam!'
Izuku, picked up the pace and forced his legs to run faster than they ever had before.
Finally, after much headache inducing yelling from his brain-mate, the greenette stood at the pearly gates of his dream school, chest heaving as his lungs begged for air.
"Holy woah..." The boy stated as he stares upwards towards the school. It's glass exterior reflected the sun and sky in what could be no less than a hundred windows.
'What did I tell you about that catchphrase?' Odei remarked rhetorically.
'To stop using it and that it was "too cringe" for your liking?' Izuku retorted. 'Anyway, we're here now! This is my-'
'Our.'
'...Our time to show the world what we can do, to show people that I-'
'We.'
'That we can be heroes!' Midoriya said internally, causing Odei to release a large defeated sigh. The boy's smile beamed brighter than it had in a long time as he took his first steps past the gates, entering the hallowed grounds of UA for what he hoped would be the first time of many to come. He took a couple more triumphant steps towards the steps leading into the main building... before accidentally catching his own foot on a loose rock. 'Or I guess i'll just die.' The boy thought as he closed his eyes to brace for what was about to be a rough landing.
He felt the momentum stop suddenly. Midoriya opened his eyes slowly, finding that he was being suspended barely above the ground- held up only by a small pillar of sludge bridging his stomach to the floor through a gap in his shirt.
'You're welcome.' The teens other half stated. Izuku could practically hear the smirk on his imaginary face.
Manipulating the sludge, the now safe teen extended the pillar until he was pushed back upright before retracting it back through his shirt and into his body. It was then that he noticed the stares. A small crowd of students had stopped their march to the building to snicker at the green haired boy, some leering at him with disgust visible in their eyes.
"Ew what even was that?"
"What a clutz. He won't last a day at UA."
"Forget UA, that guy wouldn't even make it into Ketsbutsu."
Izuku felt his hopes dwindling as he heard the comments. But part of him was angry, as well. And that part of him was his unlikely roommate.
