I've died and gone to heaven. Lasagna was officially ruined for me . I moaned as each bite of lasagna hit my tongue. The rich taste of the sauce with hints of roasted garlic and thyme. The perfect consistency of homemade noodles. The blend of Italian cheese perfectly melted and golden on the top. And oh my lord don't even get me started on the layer of a cream sauce, what's it called a béchamel? Perfection. I let out a large exaggerated moan again as I took another bit. Everyone was laughing at my dramatics kitty was covering her mouth trying to control how loud hers were and Kurt had one hand on his face and the other was slapping the table from how hard her was laughing. Scott was snickering and went to tease me.

"Good god Y/N you act like you've never ate before." Another round of laughter went around the table as I sat up straighter and pointed my fork at Scott.

"Listen here pretty boy. I've ate a lot of food and a lot of different peoples lasagnas. And I am telling you that this lasagna is a god! That's it , its my new ruler, my new god. I worship this lasagna." I fake bowed at my plate and Kurt snorted at my antics.

"I-I can't take anymore Fräulein. Bitte. No more of the laughter." His breaths were deep as he tried to reign in his laughter only to start all over again. Chatter and laughter flitted all around the large dining hall. It was really nice to be eating dinner with a group of friends. I haven't done something like this since highschool. I miss this feeling. This feeling of belonging. My mother took my first priority after highschool along with college and I lost touch with all my old friends. She used to get upset when I would go out and see then after I graduated highschool, said she needed me more then them. I didn't realize until last year that it was a manipulative tactic. I sighed feeling bummed out again. Rome wasn't built in a day. It was going to take more then a day before I started to get past these thoughts. Everyone's laughter finally died down and we all started talking bout our past experiences and when our powers awoke.

"So I got my powers in the middle of school. This class A asshole thought I was winking at his girlfriend and followed me into the bathroom when I went to check on my eyes. I locked myself in a stall and when he jumped up to harass me BAM! Lasers shot out my eyes and blasted both him and the stall door into the sinks before I could close my eyes again. My older brother was a Mutant to. He was part of the original X-Men team and brought me here to the institute where hank help me get these." Scott pointed at the glasses a somber smile on his face. Jean rubbed his back in a soothing motion gaining a curious look from me.

"He sounds like a wonderful person. Where is he now? " I ask oblivious to what else happened back then. Scott visibly got upset and dropped his fork and excused himself before storming away from the the dining hall. My mouth opening slightly and I looked around at everyone's faces panicked. Dammit it I did it again. Why do I keep ruining everything. Jean quickly put her hand on my arm as she stood up.

"It's not you Fault. Alex passed away within a days time of Scott coming here. We had left the institute that day and had went to the mall. When we got back the manor was destroyed. Scott blames himself. He thinks that if he was there it would have made a difference. The outcome would have been the same though. I'm going to check on him I'll see you all tomorrow." Jean jogged away towards Scotts direction. I looked around at everyone's sympathetic eyes.

"I fucked up didn't I?" Everyone quickly shook their heads no. Jubilee spoke up first.

"Of course not , you couldn't have known. We probably would have gotten on the topic anyways in the next few minutes. I almost forgot myself what happened that same day, I was about to start talking about Kurt's first brain freeze experience." The mood slightly lightened as the group let out a small chuckle. Kurt nodded his head vigorously.

"Ya! I thought my brain vas frozen! " I snorted at the reveal that Kurt had taken the metaphor seriously. I looked down at my plate and frowned.

"Aww man I'm all out of lasagna." Another round of laughter flitted around the table . I saw that both Scots and jeans plates where also empty. I decide that I could at least take their plates to the kitchen for them at least and wash them. When it came to the dining hall the adults where in charge of their own dishes while someone else would clean all the children's. There weren't to many adults here so the kitchens never got to crowded. Did I mention they had 3 of them? Ah yes the perks of being rich. I bent down and gathered their plates before bidding goodbye to the group and walked towards the kitchen.
