Chapter 5

-------- THE NEXT MORNING --------

Naruto POV:

The room was filled with confusion as I continued to listen quickly.

"The Earth...

will be destroyed soon," Kakashi-sensei said, "Your mission is to rescue Hyuga Hanabi who has been kidnapped. You'll be working as a four-man team led by Shikamaru. I'm also granting Hinata's request to be included in this team."

"Thank you very much." Hinata chimed in softly.

He gave Shikamaru a weird end of the world clock thing and continued, "Toneri, the one who kidnapped Hanabi, could be the one manipulating the moon." Hinata exhaled softly at the name.

"What are you basing this on?" Shikamaru questioned.

"My intuition," Kakashi-sensei said. 

Seems like it was right.

Hinata POV:

"It was around here that I lost sight of Hanabi-chan's kidnapper." Said said.

We slip up and look for clues, "Naruto, take care of Hinata."

"Leave it to me!" He smiled at me when he said that and something caught my eye, "What is it?"

We moved closer and I began to dig, "What is it?" He asked.

"It's Hanabi's kunai." I took a deep breath and placed the kunai in 

"You brought the scarf?"

"Why aren't you using it? Aren't you cold?"

"I-I'm fine." I replied quickly closing my purse, "Anyway, we'd better hurry up and let Shikamaru-Kun and the others know."

"Oh yeah, you're right."

Naruto's POV:

I helped her on the bird and we took off and reported back to Shikamaru. "What do you see, Hinata?" He asked.

"There's a spring that's glowing at the bottom of the cave."

"A spring that's glowing?" He asked surprised and we headed down to investigate. 

"Hinata, what can you see at the bottom of the spring?"

"My vision is distorted." Hinata gasped softly.

"Your Byakugan is distorting?" Shikamaru said surprised,  We'll just have to go down and see." Hinata deactivated her byakugan and stepped back a moment.

I took off my scarf, not wanting to get it wet. Sai reassured me that the water doesn't make anything wet. Shikamaru headed off into the water along with Sai and Sakura. I saw Hinata tremble a little before heading off. I stopped myself and grabbed her hand. 

"It's going to be okay. Whatever happens, I'll be right here next to you." 

She looked up at me with tears in her eyes, " I'm sorry. I did not mean to worry you. I just-"

I grabbed my scarf and wrapped it around her, "It's alright. This will protect you." She smiled and her face was full of determination, we jumped into the pool.

"If the world were to end tomorrow, who would you like to spend your last day with?" Iruka sensei asked as he paced around the room. 

"As that would ever happen," I replied.

"Just suppose..." Iruka sensei replied annoyed.

"The moon began to fall."
