"We have decided we will let you leave, but on one condition" Zarifa declared, but I knew the condition will do me no good.

"What is the condition," I asked.

"You leave this place, go somewhere far away, where he won't find you, else walahi I will kill your baby. I will let you go through the pain of childbirth, and I won't allow you to even hold the child in your arms, when I cut his head off, you'll be the one to clean up his blood, know that I can do it" she said, there and then I knew I had to leave. Maybe it was for the best.

Maybe he will come to understand and forgive me.

"I will leave" I declared.

"Don't act smart with me Najma, here are tickets to Italy because the first placee he would search is Nigeria, leave, go there and settle, and get a life, but as soon as I hear about you trying to come back to Ya Muhammad, Mark that day your child's death, and no one will be the cause but you, you've been warned." She replied, and I nodded.

"The driver will drive you to the airport," she said.

I got into the car as a tear slipped from my right eye. Just then I  heard sirens everywhere, I  tried getting out but I  remembered what Zarifa promised.

As the driver drove away, I made eye contact with Ya Muhammad, and I  saw how miserable he looked, in just a few days he lost weight, he looked like a walking zombie. He wasn't the Pizza face I know, oh Allah my pizza face, I will surely miss him. Then Zarifa and co were handcuffed and brought out.

I knew he would follow me, but by then it would be too late.

Venice, Italy

If not for the condition that led me to Italy, I would've enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness of the city, but that was the least of my concerns.

I booked an apartment, which I will be able to stay in in the meantime.

I have to put the past behind me, but I know I will never be able to. Maybe, just maybe he will find me in time and will be there to see our child grow up.

I would've loved that. But knowing how cunning Zarifa is, I  know I  stood no chance.

I prayed and prolonged my sujood and asked Allah for guidance. I cried to my lord. I leave everything in his hands.

I didn't even know when I slept on the prayer mat. I woke up to the Adhaan from my phone. She gave me my phone back, but only after she broke the sim and did a factory reset, but I downloaded the Muslim pro app and enabled adhaan as I didn't know the prayer times in this foreign place.

I would just have to get used to living here whether I like it or not.
