(Janet POV)

"Roger!? Why the heck are you calling me?" I ask, furious.

"I want to see my kid," he replies.

"Bullshit! You haven't even BOTHERED to visit her in the past two years!" I yell.

"Janet? Are you alright?" Katrina asks coming out of the room. Her eyes were still red and puffy from crying.

"Look Roger if you want to see her so bad you can. Just don't try anything!" I said.

I hang up and grab my head with my hands. Too much was going on. Raising Riley, the death threats, moving, Roger calling out of the blue, and Katrina....

I look at her and feel a pang of guilt as I realize I've been a jerk to her.

"Sorry. Are you okay?" I ask.

She raises an eyebrow, "Sure."

We just stare at each other uncomfortably. Finally I build up the courage to ask what's on my mind.

"Katrina... do you like me? Like, like like me?" I ask.

She blushes and looks down to the floor, eyes watering again. I have my answer.

But for some reason I don't feel repulsed. I feel.... happy? My heart was doing cartwheels. I haven't had this feeling since...

Oh god. Do I like like her? I thought.

I decide not to tell Katrina my hesitancy. At least I knew what was going on. I take her hand gently and we go back to the bedroom. We both sit down and I hug her again. Tighter this time. I tried conveying all my feelings into the hug. I think she got the message. She relaxed and before I knew it she was fast asleep on my shoulder, snoring lightly.

I smile and we lay down together. I wrap my arms around her protectively. It felt nice being the protective one for a change.

Do I like her? I had sex with her and liked it. We've kissed a couple times, and I always get happy when I see her.

I shake off my uneasiness and allow myself to slumber next to the Russian.
