four was just supposed to be an album title
"i called it a nine because i was saving my ten. and here it was, the great and terrible ten." -insert picture taken when they performed and zayn was sick and they introduced themselves as louis, liam, harry and niall because it just wasn't one direction with zayn-
i knew it was going to end someday. they started together, i always thought they would end together.
you know, i've spent the last couple hours being sad that we've lost zayn, and being mad that management let it get to this point, and i may have gotten some dust in my eye at some point.
but ultimately, i'm glad this is the way we lost zayn.
because we could have lost him the way we lost river phoenix.
because we could have lost him the way we lost heath ledger.
because we could have lost him the way we lost robin williams.
and so, so many others, famous and not.
i am so profoundly grateful that all we're losing zayn from is a boyband. and i'm grateful that he can continue to be a role model for anyone suffering from stress, depression, or any other mental health condition. take care of yourselves, lovelies.
i'm just thinking about the boys being together in a room and zayn having to break his decision to them like . . . i can't even imagine how heartbreaking that moment could've been.
how long have the boys known. how did they find out. how did he say goodbye. did niall ask him to think one more time. did liam cry. did luis just rub his bus tattoo and not say a word because his best friend would be a distand one after this. did harry speak for all of them that they accept it and they let him go.

zayn, you light up our world like nobody else
i'm just sad. i'm sad for us, i'm sad for the boys for losing their best friend, i'm sad for all of the potential wasted, but most of all i'm sad for all of the pain that zayn must have been in and how lonely he must have felt in stadiums full of thousands of people to need to leave it all behind.

everyone thought it would end with a final group hug, with a final goodbye but it ended with one tweet from management. let that sink in
zayn was UP ALL NIGHT. he got tons of MIDNIGHT MEMORIES. but after FOUR albums, his heart told him "TAKE ME HOME".
i will never hate anything more than the fact that one direction saved me but i couldn't save one direction.
