"Oh my goD TURN LEFT TURN LEFT TURN LEFT" Misuto screeched, her tiny hands tightening their grip on the makeshift reins that are attached to the colossal birds wings.

Wait, Hold up.

One Day Earlier.

DREAMT

The morning sunlight shined colorfully through the thousands of tiny colored beads and stones, all intricately woven through silk threads that hung up in a lily like pattern on the wooden circular frame. It was a great day on the dreamcatcher, a perfect day for an early start on your first day to work.

To bad that doesn't apply to everyone.

Misuto-Kuhara snored on, her alarm clock loudly ringing in the background of her mind. She payed no attention to this unfortunately, even as her inert body fell to the ground with a thud, muffled by the soft carpet she had laid out a few days ago.

"WAKE UP YOUNG LADY YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR YOUR FIRST DAY AT WORK!"

Misuto's eyes snapped open, scrambling to pick herself off of the floor. Her mother, the one who was yelling in the first place, looked at her in amusement.

"I'm late?!" Misuto yelled, rushing to open her closet door. Her mother nodded, foot tapping against the floorboards.

"Oh gems oh gems oh gems, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!?" Misuto ran out of her bedroom door, trying to put on her shoes at the same time.

"Don't forget your breakfast sweetie!" Misuto's mom called, holding out a brown paper bag. Snatching it from her mother's grasp, Misuto raced out of the door, her pigtails trailing behind her with the excessive weight of the traditional hair accessory; two colorful orbs of the wearer's choice.

"Oh hey Misuto, didn't think I'd catch you here. Thought you would be still sleeping" Her friend since they meet on the streets; Ito teased, prodding her with some bubble wand like thing

"Uh yeah.. Hahahah" Misato awkwardly grinned. "So.... Are we supposed to already know this stuff or will we be getting like a lesson for this?" She asked, swinging one of the stick things around.

Ito snatched it away, deadpanning "You missed it."

"What? Awww..." Misuto sighed "Great." She threw her hands into the air, falling backwards into one of the resting benches. "What am I supposed to do now?"

The two friends sat in silence for around 10 seconds before Misuto sat upright, eyes widened like she just discovered the last digit to pi.

"Can't you teach me?". Ito opened his mouth to protest but seeing his friends puppy eyes, he relented.

"...Fine..." He huffed.

"Ok so, this is a portal stick." He started, holding up the bubble wand like thing, "It is used to catch anything that comes through our gate." He points to the opening that extends beyond the dreamcatcher. "There are different kinds of sticks. The ones that we are going to be using for our first days will be the ones that catch dreams. They store the dreams until night arrives where we can release them again. The ones that are for catching nightmares will be deposited somewhere and the ones for vision- Are you even listening?!"
"Wait huh?" Misuto looked up from where she was staring at a dust particle. Ito slapped his face, hand trailing back down to his sides.

"Oh yeah, totally. Visions are distributed to the factory where we turn them into food 'cause humans aren't supposed to get them yada yada yada."

Ito sighed. Shoving the portal stick into Misuto's arms, he patted her on the shoulder and walked off.

"Alrighty then, let's get this started." Misuto got off the bench, walking into a station with the sign 'Dream Catching Station #37'

Ten Minutes Later.

"Wow ok no one told me that swinging a stick in the air would be so tiring." Misuto wiped her forehead, dropping her dream stick onto the ground. She looked around and frowned. No one else was in her area. She sighed, walking back to the wall to sit down.

Suddenly as she was opening her lunch, she saw a dark purple orb floating past her.

It was a vision!

Misuto stared, contemplating on what she should do. Firstly, she wasn't even allowed to touch visions until she had been promoted twice.

But on the other hand, it was strictly forbidden to let a vision pass.

....They should really think about their rules around here.

Making her choice, Misuto dropped her lunch on the ground, grabbing the nearest portal stick she could find.

That was her first mistake.
