The light shone through the blinds as the rays hit a pegasus' sleeping face. Her wings sprawled and drooped down, hooves twitching at the sudden light as she groaned, fluttering open her eyes before hissing in annoyance.

Dawning yawns, sleepy and exhausted from last night's theorizing. She overthought it again but she didn't regret it one bit. She had a feeling that she got closer-- a little bit -- to figuring out why pegasus can't fly-- and, to fly herself.

But what she did regret was sleeping on the desk, and now her whole body is sore from staying on the same spot after so many hours. She gently opened her wings, stretching it as well as her body, hearing satisfying pops that came not long after.

Today is a literal free day for her, thankfully she remembers it. Everypony has a free day as well. As much as she would love to go back to what she does best-- formulating and scheming plans --she decides to stroll around the city for a change.

Maybe she could stroll around with her friends, Zoom and Thunder.

The simple thought of her two friends made her smile, but it falters quickly when she remembered that they also had plans. Thunder would be visiting his parents and knowing Zoom, she would be busy catching up with the "Guard Guide" when she gets to become a Royal Guard, like Dawning.

But the grey-coated pony didn't blame Zoom for wanting to read, understand and memorize it first. It was a big book with lots of information no matter how little the position Zoom would end up in. Dawning has already read a portion of it, but mostly the important ones.

Things about what to do when you encounter a unicorn.

Use the Shield: which is weirdly a tennis ball.

But it sort of works, for others. It still weirds out and confuses Dawning, but doesn't question it.

However, thinking of a unicorn with a tennis ball on her horn is definitely amusing, all right.

Nothing much is said about earth ponies, other than not to worry because they are harmless due to their idiocy-- which is something that Dawning disagrees.

Everypony is bright in their own way-- perhaps the earth ponies' intelligence differs from a pegasi's, perhaps that wasn't the case. Who knows? Dawning doesn't-- and she wouldn't even try to now matter how much she wanted.

And after those random thoughts, she snatched her saddle bag and went straight down using the elevator. Dawning could just eat some breakfast meals at McWings, and even drink some coffee. That would be something decent, but she isn't sure if it is.

"Hmm, what do you think, mom?" Dawning asks suddenly, turning to the picture stood beside the television. "Knowing you, you'd say that it's “not enough”," she chuckles, smiling at the pegasus in the picture; Aurora Puttergale. "It probably isn't-- but hopefully, it is." Dawning puff out her chest and beams, glancing to her left and immediately spirals in a fit of panic.

"Oh-- I'm heading out now, I'll see you soon-- I love you!"
