As a pegasus, all Dawning Tampergale wanted to do was to fly. She has the wings for it-- and she believes that she could do it. So, despite the judgemental looks she gets for possibly being the only pegasus with great desires to fly, she spends her time on her own in the library.
All she could do was theorize and calculate everything that was needed for her to have the ability to fly. And so far, she got to at least ten inches off the ground-- without jumping! And with a little help of a pony-sized fan, she got the hang of gliding down, making her go slower and slower to the ground with each try.
