Chapter 3

Hero's pov

After the night we had together I was completely torn on whether to tell Josephine that we might be facing even more monsters now that we had pulled her out of Malivore. I was sure he was going to throw everything he had against us. But I just didn't want to dampen the mood we were in. Being with her again I felt complete. So what ever is coming for us I just hope we face it together and she never tries to do what she did again. Losing her is not an option and she needs to know that. I can't live without her it's plain and simple.

"You ready to visit with my Aunt's and baby Nik today" she asks me excitedly as we get dressed. We spent the night making love over and over again. Falling asleep and then waking up to start again. I'm exhausted but it was definitely worth the lack of sleep. "Of course I am love although I did get to meet the cute little mate already" I tell her to which she sticks her tongue out at me saying "yeah rub it in why don't you." Her laugh fills the room and my heart bursts with love as I watch her beautiful smile brighten the room. "I love you so fucking much baby" I say pulling her in for a kiss as I take my time leisurely tasting the hint of mint from her toothpaste as our lips mold together and our tongues massage against the other, her hands wrapped around my neck as I grip her waist. A knock on the door followed by it flying open breaks us apart. We both look up Jo's lips red and pouty until she sees whose at the door. "I told you to wait" Keelin says nudging Freya in the ribs. "I knocked first" Freya says laughing as she holds Nik in her arms his caramel colored skin, curly brown hair and the prettiest bluish eyes with gold specks open wide as he looks over at us in wonder.

"Oh my goddess he's perfect" Jo says smiling as she grabs him into her arms his little hand grasping onto her fingers as she kisses the top of his forehead. "He smells so good" she says smiling as she takes another whiff of his hair. I don't know what it is with woman and the way a baby smells, it's just some lotion and baby soap. "Hero smell" she says placing Nik in my arms as he looks up at me his eyes blinking a few times as the ladies look at me waiting. Sorry kid I know this might be awkward mate. I smile as I inhale the scent off the top of his head and it's then that I get it. He smells so new, clean and fresh and I smile as I hold him tighter. I wonder if me and Jo's kids will ever smell like this. Woahh slow down Hero you just got her back and your both still young. Plenty of time for children in the future.

"Divine isn't it" Freya asks me smiling as Jo takes Nik back into her arms. "Smells like an angel" I admit as her and Keelin look at me lovingly. I feel kind of guilty hogging Jo from our friends who are like family to us but we promised them as soon as we visited with Jo's family by blood then we would join them at the secret society hideout. The spot that changed everything for us. Without Jake begging Jo and Faye to help him spy on us then we would have never gotten this far together. Seems like a lifetime ago already with the mountain of supernatural stuff we have survived together.

We had lunch with Freya, Keelin and baby Nik in the gardens on the school grounds. Of course the girls just had to stop round and meet the baby. Mercy had heart eyes the whole time on the little man but she's too young she better not be planning on becoming a mum anytime soon. Then again she's dating a vampire so that's one thing I don't need to worry about. I laugh as Jo looks at me smirking as she grabs the baby back from Josie. "He's so adorable you could just pinch those chubby cheeks" Faye says running her finger over Nik's cheek as he coos at her. "We should get going daddy sends his best wishes on the birth of Nik" Lizzie tells Freya and Keelin. "Tell Alaric thanks for us" Freya says smiling as her arms wrap around Keelin's waist. "See you guys later love you bestie" Faye says side hugging Jo who is still holding Nik. "Love you guys" Jo says smiling as the rest of the girls give her a hug goodbye, my sister hugging me as well making Jo smile. "I'm so glad you have such amazing friends and Hero here at school. They really do love you Jo" Keelin says smiling at her. "I love them too" Jo says her eyes tearing up. "Hey love don't cry" I say taking her hand in mine as Freya grabs Nik handing him over to Keelin who starts to breastfeed him. Needless to say my eyes haven't left Jo's. She looks at me smirking knowingly as I smirk back at her. After we all finish with lunch, including baby Nik we say our goodbyes and Freya pulls Jo to the side where I assume she is getting the lecture of a lifetime as they hug each other tightly. With the wave of her hand Freya transports herself, Keelin and Nik back to New Orleans. She is one bad witch. Guess that's one thing Jo inherited from her.

"Let's get going to meet up with the others. I've missed them too you know" Jo teases me giving me a light kiss as she pulls me to my feet. "Cleansio" she chants waving her hand and cleaning away all remnants of our picnic lunch. "We need to learn that teleporting spell that could come in handy" I tell her as we hold hands walking through the woods towards the secret society hideout. "I already know it I did it when I was 11 to see my dad" she says smiling up at me. "That's cool" I say smiling back. "Not really he yelled at me to leave because he was tearing someone's throat out" she says smiling a little as she looks away. "That's Klaus yeah" I say laughing to which she nods laughing back.

All of a sudden a blue lady is in front of us. Her jet black hair tied in a french braid with a shimmery gold chain crowned around her head. Her outfit reminded me of the Genie in that old show Bewitched. But instead of pink her's was a lighter shade of blue with gold trims. "Who the hell are you some Genie?" I ask her pulling Jo closer to me. It hasn't even been a full twenty four hours and this is the monster he sends. I almost laugh at the hypocrisy. Surely a Genie is no match for me and Jo. "I'm a Jinni and I will grant you three wishes" she says smiling at us. "A Jinni don't you mean a Genie?" Jo asks her curiously. "No we are called Jinni's those pesky humans corrupted are name. I am Ablah I am your Jinni. Now what wish is your command?" Ablah asks us her hands on her hips. Me and Jo look at each other both of us in wonder at the possibilities of what we could wish for.

Before I could think too much I said the first thing that came to my mind. "I wish it was just me and Jo always and forever" I say as Ablah winks at me saying "your wish is my command." Suddenly we are in another realm everything around us looks the same but there isn't another person in sight. "Hero what did you do?" Jo asks me as she takes my hand running to the hideout where our friends are supposed to be. "They aren't here" she cries out worriedly. "Of course they aren't he said just you and him always and forever. That means no one else forever. You need to be precise in your wording" Ablah says suddenly appearing beside us. Oh boy this was a huge mistake we need to figure out a way to get back to the real world and also get rid of Ablah one way or another.
