(YES I KNOW IT ISN'T ONE WORD BUT I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PUT IT INTO ONE WORD! Btw, this may be VERY long, so be warned. If not, this may have a few parts. Enjoy!)
The trumpets sounded. Groups lined up - children, teenagers, adults, and elderlies. Thousands of hearts racing, palms sweating and lips trembling. 12 districts, 4 days, 24 tributes, 1 winner. The host, Effie Trinket, tapped her microphone as the squeak echoed through the field. Everybody fell silent, as quiet as a pin drop. there were only sounds of cockroaches and breathing of the people. Silent than any other time before. Their dull faces shone on the sun light. Even the sun was too sad to see them. Effie pulled on a fake smile. "Welcome, welcome.." She picked up the microphone from the stand and walked around. "To the official, annual 75th hunger games."
Meanwhile, in the other room, Austin and Ally were in their cabins, cuddling and safe in each-others company. They knew they couldn't hide, but at least have a moment to say goodbye.
"Austin, I don't know what's going to happen." She whispered, resting her head on his shoulder. Austin sighed. "Ally, I'm not sure, but you can handle it. If you're a tribute, you'll win. You've been training for years! I've saw you. You're pretty awesome at shooting!" And he was right. She had been hunting with her now and arrow since only8 years old. It's said she could shoot a squirrel right in the middle of its heart from a mile away. Ally smiled. "Thanks Austin." She kissed his cheek. Yes, they're friends. ONLY friends. To them this affection was normal. "But what about you?" She said quietly. "Don't worry about me. And remember, I have been working on cooking. So I could use a knife as a weapon." They both hugged eachother tightly. "Come on, we have to go or we'll be late." He put his arm around her shoulder as she put her arm around his waist. Once they arrived, they both went their separate ways, to their other groups, but as careful as they can not to distract the other members. "...and now let's get our first tribute. Our male is...Dez Wade." The redhead widened his eyes and shockingly walked up to the stage. Effie patted his back as she moved her arms around the bowl of names. "And our female tribute is.." She picked out a name from the bowl and unfolded it. Austin turned his head and looked at Ally with a sad face. "Ally Dawson!" A tear rolled down her eye. "I volunteer as tribute!" A deep voice ran through the end of the field. Ally knew that voice from anywhere. Thousands of people crowded around him. "Austin? What are you doing?" He sighed. Effie smiled and said "I'm afraid there has been a mix up." The crowd turned to her. "Well, you've volunteered." She pointed to the blonde-haired boy. "For you." And then pointed at Ally. "Dez will you go back please." He walked back to his family and thankfully hugged them. "We have our tributes. Ally Dawson, and Austin Moon!" She grabbed both of their arms gently and walked them back up on the stage. "Come on, don't be shy!" They both looked back at the people with shocked faces. "We are going to start tomorrow. Both of you, head to the train and pack your things. We're heading to the Capitol."
