LIAM'S POV:
"And where do you think you two are going," I hear over my right shoulder, it was mum of course.
"Sorry mum," I say with a little giggle, "we're just dropping down to the training ground for a little bit to get some extra practice for next weeks big game!" I exclaim.
"Don't worry mum, we'll be safe," My older brother, Kyle, says trying to suck up to her, "we will be back before you know it."
"Okay boys, have fun and don't kill each other," She says with a laugh to herself followed by a smile and a loving wave goodbye.
I can't believe we actually made it this far, to play in the grand final on the up coming Saturday, It came to such a surprise for the both of us boys. Soccer is our lives, this could potentially be one of the biggest opportunities in our lives. Kyle was our leading goal scorer and without him, we could have never made it this far. He deserves the role of our captain, the way he talks to us on the field and the way he engages us 100% more in our teamwork and gameplay is astonishing, I love my brother.
I open the door to his car, and as I hop in I sink in the seats of his old dodgy Corolla. He's had this car since he got off his L plates and it hasn't gotten any prettier.
He opens the door with a smile and looks at me, "How do you feel about training somewhere else today bud? Somewhere better?" He asks with a wink. But I didn't have a clue where he was talking about.
"Better? Around here? Please mate, there is no better fields around our area and you know that," I say with a bogan smile and we both chuckle to the silly joke.
"You wouldn't believe it, but I've found the best fields about 45 minutes away from here, greener grass, better nets, straighter fields and bigger clubhouses, you up for the journey?" He asks.
"Oh man! You know I am, let's go!" I answer, jumping up and down like mad, which makes his car shake.
"Alright, let's go buddy." He says with a smile, probably knowing I would agree.
Kyle was so much more than a big brother to me, he taught me the ins and outs of this beautiful game of soccer and he is who teaches me the right from the wrong, dad had never stayed around.. I never even had a father.. Kyle tries to be both, a brother and a father, although he's only 2 years older than I am.
"Nearly there, are you still awake Liam?" I can only just hear a little bit of laughter before I jump up questioning him.
"what? What? What'd you say? Pardon?"
"Haha, I asked if you were sleeping but quite clearly you aren't." He says as we pull into a dead end street, the pole has two signs, one reads **DeadEnd Avenue** oh I wonder how they came up with that. And the next reads **Sports grounds**
"YES! We're here!" I shout getting all excited again, forgetting I was ever tired.
I catch a glimpse of a large building, it's the club house! Kyle wasn't kidding, it's huge! Way better than our Team's home ground. I see loads of green grass running along the edge of a fence, it's greener than Brocolli! Wow.
"This is going to be great!" I exclaim looking at Kyle with a wicked smile across my not so tired face.
