LIAM'S POV:
I awoke with a frightened jump, hearing the yells of my mother saying, "Wake up boys! Game day! Come on, Come, you have to get ready."
She sounds more excited than we were, I look across the room and see my brother with his jersey all on, and packing his bag with all his gear,"Morning bud, ready for today?" he asks with a smile starting to creep in, I could tell he was pumped but too tired to show it.
"You know it! I can't believe how quick our season has gone, and better yet, that we made it this far," I responded back.
"I know how you feel, I thought this would drag on to be another long and boring season but somehow it went quick and we snuck our way into the final aye," He answered to my statement, with a little smirk, "Go get ready little one."
I leapt out of bed and ran, faster than in any soccer game so far I reckon, to the bathroom. It might be only be a game of soccer, but since Mr Tim Cahill and the boys are coming down I want to look professional. Start with my morning shower, shave, slick my hair back into the perfected manbun I wear with pride and chuck on my shorts and jersey. Number 4, oh how I love my jersey itself.
I take a pre-match selfie, my mind buzzing with many different things to hashtag, and just as I'm posting it to Instagram....I go mind blanked and end up hash tagging, "#PrematchSelfie" oh good one Liam.I run, even faster than before, to the family dining table where I see my Usual Australian Home breakfast waiting for me.. Weetbix, orange juice, a banana and a little bit of powerade.
Kyle and mom are already walking out the door, everything packed and ready to go, but wait! They forgot something..
"Hey mom wait! You forgot me!" I run out laughing stumbling over my soccer-socks which are half on and half dangling all over the path infront of me."Haha! We didn't forgot you Liam, we knew you wouldn't forget about today in a million-skillion years!" Mom says with a seedy/smiley/smirky look, I can't really describe it, at first I was abit scared but she was so focused on staring me down she smacked her head on the top of the car and Kyle and I cracked up straight away.
"Hahhhhhh!" We blurt out.
"Fuck!" She yells..
"Woah language mom.." I say blankly.. Not knowing whether to smile and laugh or ignore it and go quiet.
"Haha! No it's fine, I knew you would react like that," she says, "good manners son, don't let me catch you swearing boy!" She stares me down again and this time successfully gets into the car.
AMANDA'S POV:
(Amanda is the mother)Okay I will admit that was abit funny, me hitting my head and all haha, but man that hurt. I now have a huge headache and hope it wears off before the boy's big game!
Every game i'm yelling and encouraging them, only to find out after the game I was embarrassing them the whole game long!
"Alright Kyle, start up your shit.. Ah.. Crap box of a car and let's goooooo."
"What happened to good manners mom?" I hear Liam question behind me with a smart ass tone, tugging on the seat to pull himself forwards to see my facial expression.
"Hey hey, I said you have to, never said I needed to. You're just immat.."
"Haha aw mom you harsh lady, don't pick on the baby in the back," Kyle cuts my off with a laugh.
"Just because I still wear nappies does not mean I am a baby! Wahhhh wahhhh," Liam says sarcastically trying to act like a baby.
We all crack up so much that Kyle ends up swaying back and forth along the road. Oh what a family this is, I smile at my own thoughts of how much I love my boys.
KYLE'S POV:
I pull into the closest parking slot, surprisingly we are the second ones here! We made it here 3 and a half hours early, 30 minutes to spare, go us! The voices in my head say, I giggle to myself.
I turn off the car engine, "alright, let's go guys," I say with a cheerful ring in my voice.
We all get out of the car and as we start walking off, I notice all but one of us had left the Corolla.
"Hey Liam, what's up buddy?" I question abit worried for him.
"Huh? Oh.. It's nothing, I am just so nervous and scared, it's the first time we've been in the grandfinal and I really don't want to let you older boys down, I'm 2 years younger and have much less experience," he says with a depressed look.
"Hey, you will do great. I know you will. You haven't let us down once and always stop every rival on the move to the goals, you could even say you save the goals, not the keeper. You are a great player Liam and with all your passionate for this sport and our team, you will never let us down. What do you say bud? Ready to win? Come on," I say and start to see him smile.
He jumps up and out of the car, as it bounces back up with the reduction of weight.
We walk over to the clubhouse, and what do you know.. Now I'm shaking...
