You pulled any boulders and concrete away from your mother's motionless body. Although, you felt like you shouldn't since the more you saw her, the more you wanted to shove the bile down your throat, but you pushed through. Her body almost looked mangled. There were joints that looked like was dislocated and bones that were broken. Once you pulled the last of the debris away from her, you picked up her body. You cradled her against you as you brushed away, her once near bun, now loose strands with clumps that looked like it was missing. Her fair skin from before was replaced with pale, bloodied, bruised, and cut up. You cupped her jaw shaking.

"Mother, wake up," you repeated, "wake up, please."

"She's not going to," a voice said.

You didn't even manage to turn towards the voice when you were yanked away from your mother. "No!" you cried out as you struggled. You were weak, but thanks to your training, you kicked off the wrist with the hand that had a firm grip on you. You rolled out of the way and into a crouch position with one knee and one hand on the ground. Your eyes snapped up to the newcomer. You couldn't help but inhale sharply when you met his eyes. His green eyes almost glowed compared to his dark attire. His mask was the only thing blocking you from identifying the man. "Who are you?" you demanded.

He didn't answer, only charged at you. Knowing you weren't going to get any answers, you fought back. He was too quick or you were weakened, but you could only manage to block and dodge. You only managed to parry finally he left his face wide open after swinging a right hook. You decked his face with your dominant hand and it managed to blindsight him temporarily. It didn't knock his helmet off, but it made him dizzy from the way he blinked his daze away.

"I won't ask again, who are you?" you demanded with more frustration. It was difficult breathing with the smoke filling your lungs and a bruised rib from the explosion despite holding your own.

He, again, didn't answer. Instead, he pulled out a weapon that was at first a mere hilt, but after clicking a button, it became a sword of flames. You breathing hitch when you saw the dancing flames and a mild panic set into your being when you realized your gold pen was missing from your pocket. It must have fell out during the whiplash from the explosion. You couldn't even activate your bracelet without the pen. You were defenseless.

"I won't say it again," the attacker spoke when he saw the fear on his prey's face, "Surrender and I won't have to kill you."

You didn't know whether the man was wicked or not for his dark sense of humor from turning the tables on you. Either way, you were running out of options, and the chance of you surviving this fight was going down by the second. You bared your teeth and growled slightly, but begrudgingly raised your hands in capitulation.

He understood the signal, but still kept his guard up since the sword was still ignited. There wasn't a second of you breaking eye contact with his haunting green eyes until he was close enough to time yourself. At the right moment, when he was going to knock you out, you blocked the hilt of his sword and kicked it out of his hand. Your clothes singed from the sparks that flew around from the contact, but your adrenaline refused for you to feel it. You had caught the flying sword when you darted away from the intruder so he wouldn't be able to fight you close range. You pointed the sword towards him while panting.

You stared right back at him as you said, "I suggest you surrender, now that I got your weapon."

There was a dark chortle coming from the other party. You squinted your eyes in confusion as you saw the only sign of him laughing was the slight bounce from his shoulders. After a while, he stopped, "Do you honestly believe that is the only weapon I have?"

Instantly, dread set in the pit of your stomach. You felt your world become slow as the wall behind you collapsed from the creature colliding with it and all of the debris falling on you. You couldn't move fast enough as everything fell down on you. You fell on your chest and the concrete crushed you. You were sure you broke a few ribs, the pain was insufferable. You managed to get one last look at your attacker as something black slithered around his figure. Taking one last breath and one last blurred look, you blinked towards your mother's unmoving figure. The last look of her was her bloodied body facing away from you with your hand reaching out towards her.

The figure walked towards you with his guard lowered now that you've passed out. He reached under your chin to find a pulse still remaining. The dragon behind him followed his command in lifting the heavy debris off of her so he could pull her out and lift her on top of his saddle. They left the dead woman behind as he knew to leave the unnecessary weight behind. He flew out of the building with the sight of the catastrophe behind him. He didn't have to look to know that Merida was leaving more explosives behind, Rapunzel raising the dead of those that were exploded, and Pitch attacking with his fear army. He only needed to hear those that were screaming and crying for their lives to be saved.
