Darkness.

That's all he could remember.

Then, a bright light awoken him.

The moon.

The moon was the reason he was here miserable.

No one could see him. He was invisible to them.

No one could touch him. They all just phase through him. He would get chills everywhere every time someone did.

No one could hear him scream in frustration and anger.

Pitch wasn't at all interested nor did he held pity for the oblivious spirit. That is until the spring of '68. He saw potential in Jack and he planned to use it.

"If it isn't Jack Frost," Pitch held back a chuckle when he saw the poor spirit jump out of skin and looked around for his figure.

"Who's there?" he asked in fright.

"There's no need to be afraid," Pitch said, "I just want to help."

"Why would you help me?" Jack asked suspiciously.

The dark man chuckled, "Because I know how it feels to be left alone. No one to see or hear you. I understand completely."

"You do?"

"Yes," Pitch looked back at the boy with a sympathetic smile, then looked up to the bright moon, "To be called by the moon and then have no other answers besides your name is a hard deal. It's quite a struggle."

"What would you help me with?" Jack asked after a moment of hesitation.

Pitch smirked as he knew Jack was falling for his plan. "To find out who you are, of course. I know how it is to feel lost and alone."

Jack looked away to the moon. It was like he was trying to find his answer in it, the poor boy.

After a while, he turned back to Pitch and nodded his head.

"Alright."
