Chapter Thirty-Five (Edited)

***Carly's POV***

~~~Two Months Later~~~

I'm walking back to my dorm room on this cold September night. I've been lonely since I left that morning back in July. I spent the last two months just dragging my feet around my house. I wouldn't eat, barely drank anything. I just wanted to start everything over again. I walk into my dorm room not even seeing my roommate sitting on her bed. I have my earbuds in and I am listening to 'They Don't Know About Us' by One Direction. I know before I met them I hated their songs, but not anymore. I love their songs and I can't get this song out of my head. I distanced myself from everyone. I have tons of texts and missed calls from Abby, Louis and Lucas. I've been ignoring them all. I don't want them to worry about me when they're on tour. I did hear on the news though that Liam left the tour. I keep wondering if it's because of me, or because his wedding was just three weeks ago and he wants to spend time with Dani; but thinking about them two makes me sick.
    Suddenly something is thrown at me. I look down and it is a pillow. I look up at my roommate and she is sitting up in her bed staring at me. I guess she is trying to get my attention. I take my earbuds out. "What?"
    "Carly are you okay? I know we don't know much about each other, but we are roommates."
    "Kelly I'm totally fine. I'm just really tired." I give her a small smile and throw her pillow back on her bed.
    When I first met Kelly I thought I wasn't going to like her, but she's really nice. I don't know much about her other than she is really in love with One Direction. If only she knew that I know them.
    I put my earbuds back in and drift off to sleep.

I wake up an hour later when I hear my ringtone going off in my ears. I sleepily look at my phone and my eyes go wide when I notice Liam is calling me. I hesitate to answer, but when I finally do my voice is shaky. "Liam what do you want?" I whisper into the phone because I don't want to wake up Kelly. But Liam doesn't answer me. "Liam?"
    "Carly?"
    "Yes?"
    "I need you."
    "Call your new wife." I'm about to hang up.
    "Carly wait..." He doesn't continue.
   "Liam what?"
    "I need you to come pick me up." And that's when he hangs up. What the hell just happened? But that's also when I notice he is drunk. Shit! I quickly grab clothes to put on and walk out of the dorm. It is so quiet in the hallways, well everyone is sleeping. And Liam had to wake me up in the middle of the night. I have to text him to know where he is, but when I step outside I see a figure sitting on a bench. It looks like Liam. I walk over and I see him sitting there with his eyes closed. Is he sleeping? I sit down next to him. "Thank you for coming."
    I am shocked that he is still awake. I look over at him and he is staring straight ahead. I clear my throat to say something, but no words would come out. I shouldn't be here with him. He should be with Dani, shouldn't he?
    "Liam why aren't you with Danielle?"
    "Dani?" He sounds confused, but why?
    "Yes, your wife."
    "I just want to sleep without seeing your face, but I can't."
    What is he talking about? Isn't he married to Dani? "Liam let's take you home." I stand up, but Liam grabs my arm. I feel tingles run up my arm. I pull away right away. "Liam let's get you inside before we wake people up."
    All he does is nod. I want to slap him for making me do this. I pull on his arm so he will stand. He walks beside me still holding his arm because I'm afraid if I let go he will topple over. When we make it back to my dorm I take him straight to my bed. When I get him to lay down he falls asleep instantly, but not until he says three words that haunt me. "I love you."
    My heart breaks. I fall to the floor and lay beside him. How could he say that? Maybe he thinks I'm Dani. All I know he has a lot of explaining to do in the morning.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!"
    I hear screaming and I automatically jump up. Standing in front of me is Kelly and she is staring at Liam's sleeping form. I quickly stand up and put my hand over her mouth so she will stop screaming. When she finally stops I remove my hand. I think she can't find words to say because she just keeps pointing at Liam. I just roll my eyes.
    "That's Liam Payne."
    "Yes Kelly."
    "You know him?"
    "He's my ex fiancé." That's all I say before she is screaming again. Instead of covering her mouth I cover my own ears. And that's when Liam starts waking up. I can tell he has a hangover. He looks at both of us and his eyes go wide when he sees me. He gets up really slowly, but fast enough so he can get away from me. I am a little hurt, but I recover and Kelly finally calms down.
    "Why am I here?"
    Kelly was going to say something, but I cover her mouth. "I'll do the talking." She nods and walks to her bed. I look over at Liam and he is glaring at me. "Liam calm down. You called me."
    "What, no I didn't."
    I pick up his phone from the bed and show him. His eyes go wide when he sees. "That doesn't explain why I'm here."
    I roll my eyes. "You called me to pick you up because you were drunk. And when I walked out of the building you were sitting on a bench. So I just brought you back here."
    Liam was going to say something smart, but I hold up my hand. "Save it, okay. I don't know why you didn't call your wife."
    "Wife?" He looks confused again. What is with him? Did he lose his memory or something?
    "You know Dani?"  He is just staring at me like he's trying to figure this all out. I am getting annoyed by the second. I look over at Kelly and she is just watching us in amusement.
    "So you two used to be engaged?" Kelly actually said something without screaming.
    Liam looks over at her like he finally realizes we aren't the only two people in the room and he smiles. "It was an arranged marriage by our parents, but Carly is the one that broke it off." Liam is looking back at me and he is angry all of a sudden. "Well I have to get back to my wife, who I love so much."
   I watch Liam walk out my door without even a look back. So last night when he told me he loved me; he didn't mean it. He thought I was Dani. I feel the tears start coming and Kelly is by my side in an instant. Why did I have to be so nice to him and let him come here? I was fooled once again.
