Bravery.
That's a term that gets thrown around the Gryffindor house often. Whenever you're lying in bed staring up at the ceiling you see the flag hung up above you. The Gryffindor crest. Now that you're sitting in front of Namjoon and Jin you feel... the opposite of brave. These two are much braver than you. Speaking of, the two notice you and look up from their textbooks. "What's wrong Y/n?" Namjoon asks with furrowed brows.
"Ah nothing, just thinking that's all."
"Well she's not lying, I can see the smoke coming out of her ears," Jin says.
"Seokjin!" The man snickers, sinking back in his seat.
"Aren't you late for your potions class?" Namjoon asks.
"Maybe," you mumble, "I don't feel like going today. I'm a little... sick."
"Sick?" Jin asks in concern, "do you want me to make you something? Or get you some water?"
You shake him off, "I'll be okay, thank you though. It's more of an... emotional sickness I guess. Like one of those days where you're down in the dumps. I've been having a few of those recently."
Namjoon and Jin close their textbooks in-sync. Ha, classic Namjin. They share a single brain cell. "What's going on sweetie? You can talk to us," Jin says. Gosh you love your friends. Speaking of, Dahyun is probably wondering where you are. She's one of your closest friends. She's had pretty much every class with you every single year, yes, every year up to now. Your last year here. Insane how that works huh?
"I don't know how to describe it... it just feels like something's missing inside me. A piece of me that I don't have. A piece that's important." You look down, scrunching up your nose. "I don't know..."
"You know, I felt the same way for a while," Namjoon says.
You look back up with a hopeful expression. "Really?"
Namjoon hums, "I found my piece with you and Jin. A couple years back, before I met you I felt so empty and alone. Like something was missing. And now I have that piece back. Maybe there's a friendship or relationship you're waiting for that you haven't found yet."
You purse your lips in thought and slowly nod. "Yeah... maybe you're right. Or maybe it's even simpler: maybe it's a hobby I need. Something to occupy my time more. I feel like I don't do too much. Hell I don't even go to the quidditch games. I should get off my ass and do something... starting with class." With a newfound motivation you hop to your feet. "Thanks guys... you're always too good to me," you say with a bright smile. They return your joyful expression.
"Anything for my favorite girl on the planet," Jin replies, Namjoon agreeing right away.
After you say your goodbyes the three of you part ways. You're not the only one in the hallways, there's some stragglers but no one you recognize. Man you miss Jungkook. He's probably in transfiguration right now. That was always one of his favorite classes. You smile to yourself thinking about your best friend while not really looking where you're going.
"You're gonna run into someone Gryff," a scarily familiar male voice says.
You go still and look up, turning to face the direction the voice came from. Jimin's there, leaning against the wall while looking at his phone. He's not really paying attention to you. "What are you doing here Park? Shouldn't you be in class?"
Jimin snorts, "Why would I do that when I could hook up with someone instead?"
You roll your eyes. "You're disgusting." Even though your expression shows your disgust, your heart beats faster at the thought of Jimin with some girl. It makes your head spin, and you're not sure why.
