The brave heroes that Director Fury has assembled were fighting with all they got. The team consisted of Steven Grant " Steve " Rogers aka Captain America, the man out of time, leading the team in this carnage.
Next was the famous Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist Anthony Edward " Tony " Stark aka Ironman, the owner of Stark Industries and the high-tech suit of Iron man.
Next was Dr Bruce banner aka The Hulk, the owner of multiple PhD's.
Next was the client Barton aka The Hawkeye, the greatest marksman who never misses his target.
Next was Thor Odinson aka Thor the god of thunder, crown prince of Asgard and the brother of Loki.
Last but not the least, the only female member of the group Natalia Romanova or Natasha Romanoff whatever you want to call her, aka Black widow, the former KGB assassin trained under the red room program.

These people were handpicked by the director fury himself, under the Avengers initiative. Steve started giving orders to his fellow teammates.
