Love's Wild Card (Completed)

Foolish Mistake

Mew was sitting at the edge of bed with his head resting on his hands. He looked foreboding and Gulf felt like running away. He didn't think he would get out of this unscathed but it was his fault so he had to make up for it.

He steeled his resolve and approached Mew, "Hey."

Mew didn't even turn to look at him. He was definitely going to ignore him but Gulf tried again.

"Mew, I wanted to talk to you about something."

"...... "

"It was me who had sent that message to Mark. I didn't know it would create such a problem. I'm sorry. It was just a joke an-"

Mew quickly turned around and slapped Gulf. Gulf was stunned by this. He hadn't expected that at all. He knew Mew was angry but all he had expected was little bit of shouting and name calling. He had never seen Mew being violent with anyone. It made him sad and little bit scared. He knew that he deserved it but violence triggered lots of bad memories for him.

"Mew, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Mew didn't say anything. The look on his face was making Gulf nervous. He wanted to run away but he needed to take responsibility for what he had done.

"I'm really sorry for what I did. I want to make it up to you. I'll do whatever you want."

Mew was silent for a while then he said, "Go to Mark and Aria and tell the truth."

Gulf was getting nervous. He knew Mark was infamous for his temper. If he had guts to punch Mew, then he would break Gulf's bones. Still he couldn't say no to Mew after what he had done.

"Okay."

Gulf went to Mark's room and knocked.

"Hey Mark. "

"What do you want?"

"I wanted to tell you something. "

"Come inside."

"No, it's okay. Let's talk here. "

"Gulf, it's fine. Come let's talk inside."

"Okay."

Gulf walked inside the room and sat down on the couch.

"Well, about the message that you received from Mew's numb-"

"Did he send you here to apologize on his behalf? "

"No, it's not like that. It wasn't Mew who had sent it. It was me. I am sharing room with Mew. When he went to bath I took his phone and sent that message to you."

"Why? "

"I was just pranking him. I didn't mean to cause any trouble for you. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. It was stupid thing to do."

"That it was."

"I'm really sorry. Can you clear the air with Mew. I mean everyone thinks Mew was hitting on you. I don't want people to think bad of him so will you clear the misunderstanding. Please."

"Hmmmn, I'm quite angry with you Gulf. Why should I help you? It's the mess you created."

"I know. It's all my fault but Mew shouldn't suffer because of this."

"Why did you even do it in first place if you're so worried about Mew."

"I was little angry with him and did this stupid thing. But I realized my mistake so I want to make it up to him. "

"Why don't you start by making it up to me? "

"Yes, of course. Tell me how should I do that and I'll do it."

"Anything? "

"Yes."

"Okay, Gulf. Your little prank created quite some trouble with my girlfriend. She broke up with me."

"What? Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I didn't even think about that. I'm so ashamed right now. I can go to Aria and tell her everything. I'm sure she will understand."

"She's very upset right now so I'm giving her time to cool off. Can you help me get her back? "

"Definitely. You don't even have to ask. I'll make sure you guys make up. It's all my fault. You both shouldn't suffer."

"You are so sweet Gulf. Let's exchange Line ID. "

"Yeah."

"I'll clear everything with people on trip so they won't spread rumours. "

"Thank you so much, Mark. You are so kind. I'm really grateful for this. I'll definitely help you with Aria. Let me know what I have to do."

"You'll definitely do it, won't you? "

"Of course. I'll do anything."

"Okay, Gulf. Good night."

Gulf could finally breathe. Mark was truly a great guy. He didn't even get angry with Gulf. Gulf went to Mew and told him that Mark wasn't angry anymore and he will clear everything.

Gulf slept peacefully that night. If only he knew what was coming.
