Obsession

It was quite difficult to explain everything to Mew's parents. They were so shocked and heartbroken and sadly they blamed themselves for not understanding Mew and helping him. When Mew introduced Gulf as his boyfriend and told them about everything he had done for Mew, Mrs. Suppasit hugged the boy tightly.

"Thank you, Gulf. I'll always be grateful for what you've done for my son. I feel terrible to think that he had hurt you but I'm glad you forgave him. My son can be foolishly stubborn at times. Don't take it to heart."

There were tears and smiles, Mew felt a sense of calmness that he hadn't known since Taemin's death. He had always thought baring his true self in front others would always result in something negative. Even if it's his family, he couldn't be truthful. He couldn't let them see all the chipped and worn out pieces of his soul. He would cover them up with bright smiles and confident attitude, hoping they wouldn't look too deep.

Yet at the same time he wished someone would look deep within his soul and still stay around to mend it. It's human nature to not say what's on our mind yet expect others to understand us. He had started to resent his parents and brother for not understanding how much he was suffering, for believing his fake smiles, for thinking he was strong enough to handle everything.

He didn't realize he was the one working so hard to keep up the pretence. He didn't let them know the real Mew. He would always run away when the mask started to slip. He didn't trust them to understand how he was feeling so he tried not to feel at all. Now watching them cry for his pain and smile for his happiness felt so right.

Mew started his treatment and though it was quite difficult for him to open up in the beginning he was getting better with the help of Gulf. He wasn't completely okay. There're times when he could feel darkness creep in but Gulf is always there to chase it away. They found who had posted that cruel letter and it turned out to be Mark. He had been humiliated by Mew when he had assaulted Gulf so he decided to take revenge. It came to light that he had been stalking them for a while. Serious actions were taken against him.

Gulf posted on his Instagram about their relationship. He clarified that everything written in that post was a lie. Mew had tried to dissuade him from doing so but Gulf was adamant. He wanted everyone to know the truth. Things were going pretty well for them. They had a date planned for tonight and Gulf was very excited for it.

He got dressed up and bought a gift for Mew. They never really did couple things. They never got chance to. Now that everything was normal, he was going to do all the fun stuff with Mew. He decided to buy matching rings with their names engraved on them. He reached the restaurant and was shown to their reserved seat. Mew hadn't arrived yet. He must be busy at office.

Mr.Suppasit didn't want Mew to work for a while. He wanted Mew to only focus on getting better but Mew insisted. He loved working and just sitting at home would make him think too much. Working relaxed him in a way. Gulf would've liked it too if Mew just took time off and focuses only on himself. But he knew Mew hated being idle. Still he made sure Mew didn't overwork himself like before.

It was half past seven and Mew hadn't arrived yet. They had agreed to meet at 7 pm. Gulf called him few times but he didn't pick up. He left few messages.

"Hey, when will you arrive?"

"..... "

"Everything is okay, Mew?"

"....... "

"Did something happen at work?"

"Hi, Gulf. Everything is fine. Sorry, I got caught up in a meeting. It is taking longer than expected. I won't be able to make it today. Take care. Bye."

Gulf was really disappointed. He had been looking forward to this date but if it's work Mew can't help it. He was contemplating whether to eat here or go home. He decided to eat since he was already here. He ordered steak and wine. He was missing Mew a lot. They didn't get much time together.

It's been two weeks since Mew started counselling and he had to change his doctor. Minho's father got heart attack and was hospitalized. Dr.Perth was Mew's new doctor now. He was quite young. It had been two months and things were getting weird between Mew and Gulf. Gulf didn't know what was happening. He couldn't understand where was the problem.

Mew still loved him very much but his way of expressing that was changing drastically. He has always treated him affectionately and with care but nowadays it was getting too much. It was like Mew considered Gulf something beyond his reach. Like a God. He worshipped him. At first Gulf loved it but soon it was getting ridiculous.

"Mew, stop this."

"What? " Mew asked.

"I'm losing my temper now."

"Why? What did I do. "

"Why did you wash my clothes?"

"What's wrong with that? "

"It's not only about that. You always stay at my apartment. You wash my clothes and iron them, you cook all meals, you do the dishes, you vacuum and clean the entire apartment, you buy all the groceries and stuff, you drop me at college and pick me up too. You buy me gift everyday."

"So?"

"Mew, you don't let me do anything. Like anything at all. You are college student and are doing your internship on top of that. You already have so much work load and you do everything at home. You are overworking yourself too much.

You are thin and you're hardly getting any sleep. You wake up too early to do household chores and you sleep late to complete your office work. You don't even eat properly, you make all my favorite dishes and don't eat what you like."

"I love doing all this for you. Don't you like it? What did I do wrong? Tell me and I'll rectify it."

"I want you take care of yourself first."

"You are my priority."

"I understand that but you're neglecting yourself."

"I'm fine. I want to do everything for you. I want to treat you like a king."

"That goes for both of us. I should do things for you too. You aren't the only one who should be sacrificing everything. You refuse to go to team dinners and office outings."

"Because I would rather spend that time with you."

"You don't even meet your friends anymore. Not even Sarawat."

"You don't like my attention? "

"I love it but you have a life too. You don't have to drop everything just to be with me. I'm right by your side. When was the last time you visited your parents and Wayo? Your parents shifted back here to be close to you but you don't give them time at all. Even when they come here you're only focused on me. It hurts them even though they don't say anything."

"I didn't mean to hurt them but I want to be only with you. I don't want to meet anyone else."

"They aren't just anyone. They are your family."

"You are my everything."

"Mew, that's not the point here. I'm worried about you."

"Don't. It's my duty to worry about you. You shouldn't worry about anything at all."

"But it can't go on like this. You are getting obsessed."

"Really? Am I hurting you because of my obsession?" Mew asked with teary eyes.

"No. You are only hurting yourself. You think everything is your fault. You apologize for everything even when it's not your mistake. You would cry and beg even when I'm not angry with you. You don't even think about yourself. It's like you've no regard for yourself."

"I'm not important. You are the only one that's important for me. I'll die if it'll make you happy."

"And that thought kills me from inside."
