'Have you ever thought of getting a mother for Hiyo?', was a question that haunted Kirishima's mind not because it hides a hint of concern, but because it was asked by his lover of 2 months Yokozawa Takafumi, investigator and guard of Sawara's police department. He really didn't expect to hear it from the one that wants to spend his life with and it is something which made him completely mad with the dashing dark blue haired man.
Since they began dating, their relationship has blossomed even more and the editor noticed that Yokozawa was hanging with the Kirishimas almost every day, whether he would go to their cottage for diner and spend the night there or eat at Hasu lunch made some times by him, other times by Rotoko's brother, and also going for a walk to many attractions or helping the adorable elementary girl with school activities.
One of those incredible moments happened some weeks ago when Hiyori was participating in a festival field with the school. Due to his amount of work, the 34 year old father asked from Yokozawa to take his place in this event where the students along with a parent or guardian compete each other in running. That action spread too many rumors from teachers to citizens who didn't have the possibility to enjoy such a marvelous festival, something that made the curly haired man to smile even more.
He was a really happy man, lucky enough to have a daughter that can do things without help and a person to love again after Sakura's death. Unfortunately, it didn't last very long since a few days ago Yokozawa decided to make him that preposterous and idiotic question, creating not only an awkwardness between the two men, but also a short break of this relationship. The chief editor did nothing but listen to the other carefully, trying to fulfill his wish and find a new mother for Hiyori.
"Kirishima-san, are you alright?", his right hand Morudawa Takato asked him after he came back from the lounge room. "You seem somehow absent-minded"
"It's nothing to worry Morudawa-kun. I am scrutinizing all the proposals you gave me yesterday. By the way, I saw yours some minutes ago and it's not bad at all. Just a small detail:try to convince better the salesmen by explaining the benefits of selling those amount of books"
"Of course, but can you give me a hint about it?"
"Yes, I can", he said and motioned Morudawa to sit next to him on the chair, paying close attention to the small details. "As you can see, even though the mangaka you are working with is unpopular compared to Ijuuin-sensei, the sales from the previous month have already increase, which means more people are willing to buy new volumes and also are asking for limited edition mangas. So, if you use these observations, you will definitely win the salesmen and convince them that THIS number you are suggesting is the correct one"
"Alright, but If they disagree and suggest a lower number?"
"Then you will reduced it by 10% of the amount"
"I couldn't think about it. Thank you very much chief", Morudawa said happily with a bow, standing up from the sit to go to his desk and continuing his scrutinizing of an upcoming volume of the mangaka he is in charge of. Kirishima smiled and continued watching the proposals from his subordinates when he suddenly heard a loud voice coming from the Shounjo manga department, causing the others to jolt out of fear. Based on the shouts, apparently a mistake happened and Shirakawa was yelling at Hakamara, who did exactly the same.
The chief editor looked at his subordinates, who did nothing but shake their heads in question for what was going on, making him to sigh and stand up in order to go outside to see how the things are. When he popped his head out of the department, a cup passed through the air, few inches away from his head, and fell down with the containers scattered on the floor. Kirishima twitched his eyebrow in shock and then turned his head to see Shirakawa looking at him in complete terror and Hakamara cupping her mouth, indicating the surprised expression she had on her beautiful facial features. "What's the matter Shacho?"
