A/n: hey biscuits. I know you all are angry at me, but I am sorry. I am sorry that I can't update early. But please bear with me. It's tough but I am trying.
Anyways, we have both krithi and Chris pov in this chapter.
Krithi
"Would you mind if I sit here?" a woman wearing a red cardigan asked me.
"No" my reply was short. I was not really paying attention to the world until I heard her voice.
I sat on the beach watching the people in the park and kids playing near water.
I am at the park on the other side of the city, just to escape my mind from all the happenings in my life.
I sighed. Not again.
Despite my efforts to avoid my thoughts about what happened in my life, and how much I thought about moving on, I just couldn't.
After that day at home, my so called husband didn't lose the chance to prove that I am weak. He killed that bastard, which I came to know from Lucas. What makes me wonder is that I didn't find any trace of remorse in Lucas voice.
I know what that bastard did was wrong, but you can't just kill someone like that for god sake. It haunts you for life.
And no one knows about it than me. Trust me.
A cold wave of wind passed over us, and I shivered with the impact. I pulled my arms and legs close to my body and hunched over the bench to prevent the heat loss.
"Here" I heard a voice and turned my head to see the red cardigan woman lending me a jacket.
I contemplated.
It's not easy to accept gifts from a stranger.
"You can return before you leave" she said shaking the jacket in front of my face.
"Thank you" I smiled.
"No worries" she returned my smile and turned back watching the people.
I wonder if she came here just like me because she couldn't think straight. Whatever. It's not my business.
"Kate!!" I heard a voice yelling not so far away from me.
"Kate? What are you doing here? You just come away like this without informing me. I was shit scared. How can you be so reckless?" A man in his late 40s yelled at the woman beside me who is Kate.
"I just want some time alone" Kate replied not really looking at him.
"You just can't come away like that" he said panting a little weakly.
I got irritated. What's with people these days. Can't a woman have her own time.
"Why do you care? It's not like you care about me?"she replied curtly.
"I care about you. You even know it" he whispered as if he was hurt still panting.
The woman beside me melted. I can see it. Her eyes swirling with so many emotions.
"First, sit down" she moved a bit to give space for him.
"No. I want to go home. I want to spend time with you. Alone." he said in a small voice.
"I am sorry. But I can't." She hesitated before saying in a fake cold tone.
"Why? Don't you love me anymore. Don't you want me just because of you found out the truth?" he said Sadly.
"Actually. It's the other way round. If you had love me, then you would have agreed" she replied angrily.
"And what? Let you suffer from the bills and throw you in debt?" he tried to reply strongly.
