Valerie:
We had a choir thing, we have to go to a baseball game. The only reason I'm going is because all my friends are going.
It got pretty boring while waiting for the buses to arrive so we started to play truth or dare.
We sat in a circle, Haley, Sandra, Me, Rachelle, Luke, Katy, Andrea, Juan and then back to Haley.
Haley started it off. She asked Andrea if she has ever had her first kiss. Andrea said yea and then it was Sandra's turn.
I got bored and tuned out everything until it got to Katy. She asked Sandra truth or dare.
She said "Dare," with a smirk like she was the smartest person in the room. Katy gets a look on her face. I look everywhere instead of Katy while wishing that she would do something to do with me.
Then Katy finally gave my heart a rest. "I dare you to kiss anyone in the circle." My heart leaped and then remembered she said "anyone."
I waited anxiously as she looked around the circle. When she got to me we made eye-contact. Then she said "I've known Haley the longest but I'm closest with Valerie."
I get some hope that she might choose me. I don't get an answer but I get a quick kiss on the cheek. I feel myself start to smile wider and my face grow redder.
I forget it's my turn until everyone is silent. I try my best to not stutter but me without stuttering is like Ariana Grande with singing. "I-u-hhhh. J-Juan. Truth o-or Da-dare?" He says truth and I ask if he had a boyfriend. He says yes and we continue with the game.
