You were awake.
It was late.
I could hear,
Your voice was
Sleepy.
I could hear,
Your dreams
In your
Mumbling sighs.
You spoke
About the rain,
And us.
"You in your red lipstick."
"I had a smile on my face."
You stayed awake,
Because
I wanted to be
With you,
Every waking hour.
And,
In this
Night.
The distance,
Precipitates.
Your words,
And your light
Laughter enfolds
My empty arms.
You can't fall,
In love,
With him.
I reminded,
Myself.
I promised.
But,
You sounded
So raw,
So unguarded.
I knew,
I couldn't fall.
For,
I had crashed.
YOU ARE READING
Mirage.
