Scalding,
Determined.
I rekindle the ashes.
Cigarettes and heartbreaks,
My ashtray overturned, on the floor.
Breathing in,
Through choked lungs.
I defy darkness.
Recently lit,
A ring of smoke.
Fades into eternity.
I take the same route to your bed.
Was it worth the trip?
You are asleep,
Your lips are still stained
Form the blood of my taste.
The heat of you,
The night's rain.
Your halo,
Of remarkable indifference.
The sun rises again,
And, I lock myself out of your apartment.
YOU ARE READING
Mirage.
