Y/N POV
It's the next day, and I'm just feeling hurt and used. I've seen a lot of entertainment and new articles with Scarlett, Colin, and Rose's pictures plastered all over the internet, and I simply turned off my phone after viewing it. I couldn't stand seeing them together because I knew I was expecting Scarlett to be someone she wasn't, and she isn't mine, so I couldn't ask her to drop everything for me, after all
Who am I?
I lay in bed for a few hours doing nothing because I didn't feel like getting out of bed or eating anything that seemed meaningful. I have no idea what I'm doing with my life and I know that if my parents were looking down on me right now, they would be disappointed. Even though they weren't always the best with one another, when it came to me, my parents did whatever it took to give me the best life they could and now I'm on my own. Of course, I had Melissa and even Tyson, but I wanted someone to be there for me every day, and they both have their own lives, so I wasn't going to be a burden.

After a while, I go downstairs to switch on the heat because the house was extremely cold. As I'm changing the thermostat, the doorbell rings, and I don't answer it until the ringing continues "yeah fine I'm coming jeez." As I open the door I'm met with Melissa's shouting "EXCUSE ME MISS DID YOU NOT SEE ME CALLING YOU LIKE A MILLION TIMES," Melissa exclaims as I open the door. "Sorry, my phone is switched off right now," I respond tiredly, rubbing my temple to relieve the pounding against my skull. "Could you keep it down with the noise?" I ask. "Fine." "What's up?" I asks as she passes by me and into the house. "I should be asking you that," she says as she returns my gaze.
"I'm fine, there's nothing wrong with me."
"y/n I've seen the photographs on the internet; they're practically everywhere."
"Well, there's nothing to say, she's out with her husband and child for dinner."
Melissa approaches me and grabs my shoulder, "come on y/n, I've known you for years, I know when you're lying, and you also look like a shit."
I put on a phoney grin. "Thank you for your valuable input," I say sarcastically
"What I'm saying is that you deserve more and don't blame yourself; you are the hardestworking, kindest, smartest, and most gorgeous woman I know, and I'll be damned if I let you forget it. You can't keep wallowing in self-pity; you can't keep falling down this road feeling sorry for yourself. You have to keep moving on since there will always be ups and downs in life."
I knew Melissa was right. I was slowly starting to lose myself, I kept getting caught up in the idea of being with Scarlett that I didn't think about what I needed. She, on the other hand, definitely thought about what she needed because she would always remind me time and time again that her priority was her family.
"You're right Melissa. Right now, I need to concentrate on myself."
"You're damn right," she adds as she embraces me.
I hug her back, clinging to the safety she was providing. We sit on the couch and talk for a while until Melissa takes my phone.
