SCARLETT'S POV
During my nine-month stay in Rome with Colin and Rose, much has happened, particularly between Colin and I. I couldn't stop thinking about y/n every time I was with Colin. When I last saw her, her face was covered in tears, begging me to stay, and I couldn't. I had to let her go and keep my face composed, but in reality, all I wanted to do was reach out and never let her go.
"Can you hear me, Scarlett?"
Colin began vigorously waving his hand in my face, which drew my attention.
"Yes, Colin," I said tirelessly.
"Have you heard me? I've been talking for a while now."
"To be honest, no, I haven't," I replied, "what were you saying?"
"I asked where you went last night, you didn't respond, and I didn't see you come back home?"
"I just needed to get some fresh air and go for a stroll," I replied.
Colin locked his gaze on me, "I hope you didn't see y/n since we just got back, and I'd hate to think you'd damage everything we've established."
"Don't say her name, and you won't have to worry about her," I tightened my jaw at the mention of her name.
"I know it may appear that I'm the bad guy right now, Scarlett," he smirked, "but I promise you, I'm only doing this to secure our family."
"I know Colin," I murmured as he approached me and kissed my forehead, "but I'm exhausted so I'm going to bed... goodnight babe."
"Yep, goodnight," I said with a tight lipped smile.
"But nothing, you broke me and Tyson picked up the pieces, and now I'm actually truly happy, and so should you, you have your family, so just leave me alone so I can learn to finally be happy," Hearing y/n's words echo in my head I couldn't help but clinch my fist and pound it against the table when he left upstairs.
I didn't mean to hurt her; I just wanted to protect her from Colin and possibly myself. I didn't realize that by doing so, I was pushing her away from me and into the arms of another. I wanted to be there for her in her time of need, not Tyson, and if today has taught me anything, it's that I need to win her back. There was no way in hell I was going to let Tyson take what was rightfully mine.
"Come on, you can do this Scarlett," I said as I opened my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found y/n's name. I took a deep breath and dialled y/n's phone number, but it didn't even ring.
"Did she block me? "Fuck what am I going to do?" I mutter to myself as I turn off my phone.
It was pointless to focus on the fact that she had blocked me; I simply had to find another approach to reach her.
THE NEXT DAY
I was parked down the street near y/n's house, I know I'm probably stalking her, but I needed to see her and this was the only way. Just then, I see the front door open and Tyson quickly kiss y/n goodbye "he must be heading to work," I thought. Meanwhile, y/n smiles and waves Tyson goodbye until he drives off, she waits for him to drive off and then walks down the block to a nearby coffee shop. As she makes her way inside I trail behind her as she enters, making sure to maintain a safe distance. "What can I get started for you today?" says the blonde barista with a big smile.
"Two French vanillas please."
"Of course, and is that all there is to it for today?"
"That's all there is to it."
As y/n pays for her beverage I can't help but wonder why she ordered two drinks. I understand that when you're pregnant, you get strange cravings and eat twice as much as usual, but I doubt that both drinks are for her.
Melissa enters through the front door, sneaking up on y/n and tapping her shoulder. "There you are, always late as usual," y/n smiles. She hands Melissa her drink "Oh please, you're just always early." They laugh as they walk to a nearby booth and start chatting.
"How's Tyson doing?"
"He's fine; he just left for work a few minutes ago."
"You know, I really appreciate him stepping in when he did, and especially being there for you and the baby even though it's not his; not many people these days would do that."
What exactly does she mean by "not his"?
"I know I'm so lucky to have him after everything that's happened with.... you know."
"Yeah, she's a jerk and she didn't deserve you, but you stuck with her even though she's married and she dragged you along."
"Well, that's in the past now, and I'd like to concentrate on the future."
"Absolutely, changing the subject, are you and Tyson still up for a movie night tonight?"
"Is that even a question, and please bring snacks?"
"Of course I will, but I'll see you later, okay?"
"Alright, Melis—" Suddenly, y/n was crouching, clutching her stomach and yelping in pain, while the other customers stared and whispered to one another.
"Y/n, what's the matter, are you all right?"
"i-i-i think I'm having contractions."
"Are you sure?"
"MELISSA!"
"All right, let's get you to the hospital, and I'll call Tyson on the way."
Melissa takes y/n outside the coffee shop and drapes her arm around her shoulder. I can't help but be enraged as I look blankly at the front door.
She was carrying my baby for 9 months and didn't say anything, so I sat up and dashed to my car to catch up with them.
When we arrived at the hospital, I followed them and saw Tyson waiting for us; he quickly ran to y/n and hugged her.
"Are you all right?"
"You know, I'm literally in labour."
Just then, a nurse appears with a wheelchair and gently pushes y/n into the room, where she is escorted to a delivery room. Tyson grabs the nurse's arm and asks, "Can I come?"
"Are you the child's father?"
"ye-"
"That would be me," I say as I approach them.
