Today, however, Mary and Dickon found the excuse that they were busy with schoolwork and they had to go study outside so the air would help them concentrate. They agreed that the "schoolwork" was mathematics so Colin wouldn't tag along. Colin hated mathematics.
In reality, Marry and Dickon went in the Secret Garden. The ivy on the walls was bright green, a little darker than the grass. The trees, each shaped with differently had grown quite tall. The tree from which Missus Craven had fallen had to be removed for it had died. The small flowers that Dickon and Mary had planted were still growing all around them.
Mary took a step to be closer to Dickon.
"The reason we're here....is because I have to tell you something quite difficult to say."
Dickon came even closer to Mary.
"Yes? "He said, a taunting smile on his face. "Go ahead."
''You are mocking me. I knew this was a bad idea!'' Mary turned to the direction of the Garden's exit.
'Nononono, sorry, no, I'm not mocking you. I just.... know why we're...'
Dickon traced a circle on Mary's soft lower lip. Mary came even closer. She put her arm sound Dickon's neck, looking at his lips too.
"You Dickon are the most extraordinary-"
She was cut off by Dickon's lips. A warm sense filled Mary's body. She swept her right arm across Dickon's chest and ended up holding him by the jawline. She liked kissing. She started moving her lips a bit more, in synch with Dickon's but she parted them a little. Mary and Dickon both took some air, breaking their kiss, but then took off from where they remained. They didn't want to stop. Now their mouths were both open.
Dickon had one arm on Mary's forearm, the other on her waist. Mary's tongue found Dickon's and swirled around it. He sighed
Mary broke the kiss of to get air. All their feelings, all the words they couldn't say were in that kiss, that wonderful, meaningful kiss.
"The moon is up"
"We should go, remarked Mary."
After that time in the garden, they started having meetings past bedtime often.
Things would perhaps work out......only, they didn't...
