Week already passed since the first meeting of Hwang Hyunjin. I could still feel his icy blue eyes on me. I wasn't really thinking about their company offer, but leaving my house for a free dinner, with the most attractive man I have ever seen was enough reason to drop everything and go.
I walked outside the house, walking towards our gate.
"Good evening," the familiar soothing voice said to me, and when I closed the gate behind me, the door on his black sports car was already opening for me.
He was wearing all black, with a black shirt slightly unbuttoned on the top. His distinctive, but at the same time very delicate scent hit me in the face, which at that moment, made him even more attractive.
"Hi," I said and sat down, he quickly ran to the other side of the car to sit at the driver's seat.
"I chose the place, where I love to discuss business," he broke the silence after a while, speaking slowly but very clearly.
"So I'm still something you want money from?" I chuckled, but I was serious in some way.
"Let's be professional, I just want to give you a good deal, it's not about money at all," I only saw a little part of his face from the city lights we passed. He was still looking in front of him with a serious expression on his sharp face.
"Whatever," I mumbled.
The ride was quiet after that, apart of the music on the radio. He was driving fast through the city and when I finally realized I'm really with him again, we were sitting in the darker corner of the restaurant where he already made a reservation for us.
"So," he mumbled.
"So?"
"Have you been thinking about that contract? It's a genuinely fair deal and your father is very supportive of the idea of giving you this opportu-"
"No," I chuckled, "let's just enjoy our dinner."
"Your father said you're more polite, but you're interrupting me in the middle of my speech," he looked me dead in the eyes.
"Just relax," I chuckled again, "you invited me to dinner, so let's enjoy it and put business aside."
"Did you enjoy the rest of your New Year's Eve?" he changed the topic quickly.
"Well after you left me alone in the garden," I looked up from my plate at him, just to see he was already looking at me, "it was pretty nice, I drank a little and left after an hour. My dad stayed longer."
"You said you don't drink," he answered quickly.
"Uhm," I stuttered.
"Why?" he put his fork on the plate, put both of his hands together in front of his chin and looked at me without any other word.
"You expect me to take a drink from a man - from the group of 8 men? I need to be careful," I said slowly, his facial expression was scaring me a little.
"Your father knows us, do I really look like someone who will put something in your drink?" he said seriously.
"This can say anyone," I folded my hands together, defending myself with my body language too.
"Oh come on," he scoffed, "we're having dinner and you're accusing me of putting something in your drink?"
"I didn't accuse you."
"You wanted to," he winked at me and grabbed his fork again, looking back down on his plate.
"Do you like your meal?" I asked. I wanted to ease the tense atmosphere he made a couple of seconds ago.
"I love to eat in this restaurant so yes. What about you?"
"You take here a lot of people?" I asked curiously. I really wanted to talk to him about something, because he seemed like he was mad at me.
"Mostly. They know me here very well and everything here looks very elegant," he said still not looking at me, but it was clear he wanted to avoid my eyes.
"You bring here your girlfriends too?" this question made his head snap to look at me, but this time his icy eyes were giving a more fierce look.
"Girlfriends?"
"Well yeah you have plenty of girls circling around you I'm very sure of that," I was the one who winked at him this time.
"This place is for business. I'm not discussing any personal stuff with any of my clients no matter their gender," he said very quietly. The feeling of making him mad was very pleasant.
"Relax," I chuckled again, "gosh, you're acting as I asked you something serious."
He stayed quiet after that I didn't have enough courage to start the conversation again.
When we were done eating our food I insisted to pay my half, but he insisted to pay it for me. Saying that he always paid for food his clients ate, making this his and his 7 partners tradition of putting their paychecks on the company name.
He drove me home but he was driving even faster than when we went here.
The drive home was quiet, he didn't say a single thing during that and neither did I."Will you think about that contract?" he broke the silence when he parked his car in front of my gate. He was talking very quietly, his voice seemed deeper than before.
"I'll think about it. I have your number."
"I hope you enjoyed dinner," he smiled after that, which stopped my heart for a couple of seconds.
"Yeah I enjoyed our date," I smirked but his smile faded the second he heard the last word in my sentence.
"You mean business dinner," he reacted fast when his smile faded, he was scanning my face up and down.
"Yeah, it was a date," I chuckled but he didn't seem very impressed by the words I was saying.
"It was business dinner," he said slowly, slowly moving his head closer to me.
"Date," I chuckled again. Looking down at his lips which he probably saw.
"Then you probably had very bad dates when you think this was a date," he chuckled suddenly, moving his head further from me. I was still shocked and glued in the same position.
"I did," I smiled at him, replying to all my bad dates in my head and quietly thinking this was the best one even if it wasn't even a date.
"So when you'll think about it. Call me," he said, stepping out of his car to open a door for me.
"Thank you," I smiled at him when he was standing in front of me outside of his car.
"Do you, do you want to go in?" I said nervously. I didn't know where this night will go but I was excited to find out.
"I have things to do tonight. But I enjoyed dinner," he said strictly.
"Well yeah, sure," I ran my fingers through my hair sadly. He then sat back into his car and sooner than I was able to realize he turned me down his car was already fading in the dark.
