The sounds of boots clicking in the marble floor was the only noise in the big corridor that led to the throne room. Two guards were accompanying a young lad, with tattered clothes. As they passed a group of maids who were working in the palace, they sent the boy hateful glances as they whispered to each other. They were really quiet, no one heard what they said, just some sushed murmuring.
At the end of the corridor some guards opened a big door with some golden decoration. The throne room was enormous, decorated with statues of the previous rules of the empire of humans, Tiread. But the stone faces looked even colder tha they ususally do, like this palace despises the boy from it's fondation. On one of the sides were covered with big windows wich seemed to pour the light in. On the opposite side the wall was littered with the tapestry, telling the bloody and gory story of a greedy empire with the heroic deed of the ancestors. The chandeliers weren't lighted and the flags with the crests seemed to be rally heavy, like they can be falling towardsvthe ground.
From the end of the throne room, a strict and harsh voice sounded. "I suppose you know why you are here, you filth." The voice was laced with venom, disgust, and barely restrained fury. A man in his forties looked at the boy with disgust and hate. He was the emperor of Tiread, the empire of the humans filled with greed and jealousy. He sat on an enormous throne littered with gold and gems, showing off the wealth of the humans along with their conceit. His name was Harlan and beside him his oh so dear family.
A middle aged woman, empress Allura, looked at the boy with curiosity and spite, and called out to him. "Didn't we teach you that if you are asked a question you will be obliged to give a response!" She snarled out, while one of the guards yanked him up with his golden hair to face the family. His family. The kneeling boy is one of the imperial family, one of the purest blooded humans, but he's in front of his own kind like a slave. Th silence was so loud that a pin drob woud be considered as shouting.
Then the boy spoke up. "Why should I know, when I didn't do anything?" One of the males in the room, Wybert, the youngest, shouted at him in a squeaky voice. "You tried to k-kill your own sister! H-how could you say that!" The little boy said, choking back his sobbing as he laid his teary eyes on his older brother. Holden, the dirty lad looked at him. He realised that his little brother, his dearest, who he practically raised up, didn't believed him. The she-devil, who was her little sister, convinced everyone that he tried to kill her, when in reality, he loved her. In past tense. The little 'angel' arranged a trap, so that she can get rid of him, but who knows why, humans are greedy, and some of them will use anything to get what they want.
"Enough, you filthy boy! You will pay for your sins! Even the maids confirmed that you were the one who tried to kill her!" Roared the emperor, not knowing what happened in reality. "Your punishment will be death!" Some of the family looked shocked, Holden was happy that someone believed him. But his siblings and parents weren't in that group. Moreover, the she-devil can be seen smirking as the punishment was ordered, she was hidimg behind the throne, putting up a very convincing act of a scared little girl. She wanted to see the fear in his brother's eyes, but when she looked at him, all he could see was the void and a silent promise 'you will face your own punishment soon'. Her smirk grew more in size as she looked at the boy. 'We will see that dear brother, we will see that'.
The executioner approached Holden, but when he looked at the boy he was surprised. This wasn't the first time he was ordered to kill someone, but that was the first time the victim didn't plead for mercy or swear revenge. The boy just looked at him with emotionless eyes as he moved forward his head, submitting to his fate. He admired him for that, but also pitied him. He could've had a normal life if he didn't tried to attempt the murder.
