wolf moon ; part one

Imani sighed as she looked at her soon to be old room. Laura, Derek, and herself had only been there for three years. She liked it. However, it never felt like how their home felt. Like something was missing, other than the family they had lost.

Although, it was just as relaxing to be in as their old house. None of them felt connected to it. Laura's theory was that as a Hale they all shared a connection towards the land in Beacon Hills they owned so they could not really have a connection to their new home. Laura believed that they shared a connection between their old home even if that was wavering for being gone so long. Of course, Imani and Derek agreed with her theory.

It was in October that Laura decided that they would move back to their home town. She announced the main reason was because a werewolf had done the spiral of revenge on a deer. Laura was worried that someone could be threatening them for their land or cause unexpected deaths on people.

Laura promised she would call the pair every night until it was safe for them to come. Laura set up a place to fit the three of them. She also set up arrangements for their old house to be rebuilt. So they all could live in the preserve while Imani finished High School. The house being rebuilt was something they were all excited for.

From the night of October 20th to the morning of December 13th, Laura had called Imani and Derek. She had checked in on the both of them everyday and night. She listened to how their day went or how they hoped it would go. Laura listened to them bicker over the simplest of things. Until the night of December 13th Derek and Imani felt it.

Their pack bond was broke. They felt the harsh tear of their alpha being ripped from them. It was just as painful as when their family was burned. It was excruciating. However, there was still hope. Well, more of Imani attempting to have optimism.

Derek recalled the time when Imani and his younger sister Cora accidentally broke the pack bonds when they were younger. Because they had not access their wolf yet, they had not realize they did. Until they heard their family screaming their name out of worry in the preserve.

So, with idealism, Imani encouraged Derek to call the police in Beacon Hills to search for Laura. Imani was hoping the gut feeling she had was wrong and that her older cousin was just missing.
