Volume 1 Chapter 2 - Arctic's New Family

Third point of View:

After traveling for weeks, Arctic stumbled upon a small island called Patch. There, he met a kind woman named Summer Rose, who took him under her wing and welcomed him into her home. Summer lived with her husband, Taiyang Xiao Long, and their two daughters, Yang and Ruby. Arctic was hesitant at first, but as he got to know the family, he realized that they were everything he had been searching for.

Arctic Phoenix: nervously "Um, Mrs. Rose, Mr. Xiao Long, I wanted to talk to you about something."

Summer Rose: "Of course, Arctic. What's on your mind?"

Arctic Phoenix: "Well, I've been thinking a lot about my situation and my family. And, I don't think I can go back there. It's just too much for me to handle."

Taiyang Xiao Long: "I understand. It takes a lot of courage to come to that realization, Arctic. We're here to support you."

Arctic Phoenix: "Thank you, Mr. Xiao Long. And, I was wondering...if it's okay with you, can I change my last name to Rose? I know I'm not officially a part of your family, but...I feel like I belong here."

Summer Rose: "Oh, Arctic. You don't have to change your name to be a part of our family. We accept you for who you are, no matter what your last name is."

Taiyang Xiao Long: "But, if it means something to you, we're more than happy to have you take on the Rose name. It would be an honor to have you as a part of our family."

Arctic Phoenix: tearfully "Thank you so much. I don't know what to say."

Summer Rose: "You don't have to say anything, Arctic. We're here for you, no matter what. And, we're so proud of you for having the courage to speak up and make this decision for yourself."

Taiyang Xiao Long: "Yes, we're proud to have you as a part of our family, Arctic Rose. And, we'll always be here to support you and love you, no matter what."

Arctic Phoenix: smiling "Thank you. I can't tell you how much this means to me."

Summer and Taiyang were warm and nurturing, and Yang and Ruby were full of energy and curiosity. They accepted Arctic for who he was and treated him like he was one of their own. For the first time in his life, Arctic felt like he had a real family. They then introducing their daughters to Arctic. 

Yang Xiao Long: "So, Arctic, we've been talking about ourselves all day. How about you tell us a little bit about yourself?"

Arctic Phoenix: "Sure, what do you want to know?"

Ruby Rose: "Well, where did you come from? How did you end up with us?"

Arctic Phoenix: "I come from a small village up north. My family...they weren't very kind to me, so I ran away. And, I ended up here, on Patch. And, that's when I met your family."

Yang Xiao Long: "That must have been really hard for you. But, we're glad you're here now. And, we'll always be here for you."

Ruby Rose: "Yeah, you're a part of our family now, Arctic. And, we're excited to get to know you better."

Arctic Phoenix: "Thanks, guys. I'm really grateful to have you in my life."

Yang Xiao Long: "So, what are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun?"

Arctic Phoenix: "I like to explore. I like to see new places and meet new people. I also like to read, and I'm really interested in learning more about Dust and how it works."

Ruby Rose: "Ooh, that's really cool! You should come with us on our next adventure. We're always exploring new places and finding new Dust."

Arctic Phoenix: "That sounds amazing! I would love to come with you guys."

Yang Xiao Long: "And, we can teach you how to fight! We're all really good at it."

Arctic Phoenix: "That would be awesome. I've never been in a real fight before."

Ruby Rose: "Don't worry, we'll teach you everything you need to know. And, we'll have a lot of fun doing it!"

Arctic Phoenix: smiling "I'm really excited to be a part of your family, guys. Thank you for accepting me."

As the months passed, Arctic began to feel more at home on Patch. He helped out around the house and learned new skills from Taiyang, who was a skilled craftsman. Meanwhile, Yang and Ruby took him on adventures around the island and taught him how to fish and explore.

One day, while out exploring, the group stumbled upon a group of Dust thieves who were attacking a local shop. Arctic knew he had to do something to help, so he sprang into action. He used his quick thinking and agility to disarm the thieves and help the shopkeeper fend them off. The police arrived soon after and thanked Arctic for his bravery.

Word of Arctic's heroism quickly spread around Patch, and it wasn't long before he caught the attention of Beacon Academy. The school's headmaster, Professor Ozpin, saw something special in Arctic and offered him a place at the prestigious academy.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Arctic accepted the offer and began his studies at Beacon. He excelled in his classes and quickly made friends with other students. He even reunited with Yang and Ruby, who had followed in their mother's footsteps and enrolled at Beacon.

Arctic never forgot the kindness and love that Summer, Taiyang, Yang, and Ruby had shown him on Patch. They had saved him from a life of misery and given him a new family to call his own. And even though he was now a student at Beacon Academy, he would always remember where he came from and the family that had given him a second chance at life.
