Volume 1 Chapter 3 - Ruby Rose and Arctic Rose

The bustling streets of Vale were alive with activity, as people went about their daily routines. The sun was shining brightly in the sky, casting its warm light across the city. In the midst of all this, a group of men clad in black were making their way towards a Dust shop called "From Dust Till Dawn".

Inside the shop, a young girl with a red hood and her older brother, Arctic Rose, were browsing magazines, unaware of the impending danger. The girl was Ruby Rose, a Huntress-in-training, with a fierce determination and a weapon to match - a scythe that could transform into a sniper rifle.

Suddenly, one of the men approached Ruby, attempting to mug her. Ruby, quick on her feet, raised her scythe and knocked him unconscious. Her brother, Arctic, did the same to another henchman. The remaining thugs retreated, but Roman Torchwick, their leader, remained.

"Who do you think you are, little girl?" Roman sneered.

"I'm not a little girl," Ruby replied, her scythe at the ready. "I'm a Huntress."

Arctic added, "And, she's not alone. You mess with one of us, you mess with both of us."

Roman laughed, "You two are no match for me."

Ruby and Arctic chased Roman onto a nearby roof. Once there, Roman boarded a Bullhead and attempted to kill Ruby with a Dust crystal explosion. However, she was saved just in time by a Huntress named Glynda Goodwitch.

Glynda engaged in a ranged battle with Roman's accomplice, Cinder Fall. Though both combatants used an impressive array of attacks and defenses, the fight ended in a draw with Roman and his partner escaping.

Afterwards, Glynda took Ruby and Arctic to an interrogation room and chastised them for their reckless actions.

"Your impulsive behavior could have cost you your lives," Glynda scolded.

She then stepped aside, revealing the Headmaster of Beacon Academy, Ozpin, who immediately commented on Ruby's silver eyes and Arctic's skilled abilities.

"I am Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy," Ozpin introduced himself. "Your actions today were very impressive. I believe you have what it takes to become great Huntresses."

Ruby and Arctic looked at each other in disbelief. Becoming a Huntress was their ultimate dream.

After a brief conversation about Ruby's scythe skills and Arctic's abilities, Huntress training, and dream of becoming a Huntress, Ozpin offered for them to attend Beacon two years early, which they gladly accepted.

"I will be keeping a close eye on you both," Ozpin warned. "You have a lot to learn, but I have faith in you. Welcome to Beacon Academy."

Ruby and Arctic couldn't believe their luck. They were finally on their way to achieving their dreams, and they were ready for anything that came their way.
