As the group of new students made their way through Beacon Academy, Ruby and Jaune were having trouble finding their bearings. Fortunately, they were joined by Arctic Rose, who knew her way around the school. After some wandering, they finally arrived at the training arena, where all the other students were waiting.

Yang, who was already in the crowd, called out to Ruby and Arctic to come over. "Arctic, Ruby! I saved your spots over here!" She yells at Arctic and Ruby. "Sorry Jaune, I gotta go, Ill see later!" Ruby said as she grabbed Arctic's hands, and runs to Yang. leaving Jaune to complain about being left alone. However, Pyrrha Nikos, another student, silently took an interest in Jaune.

Ruby began recounting her earlier encounter with Weiss to Yang "Yikes, meltdown already?" Yang asked Ruby, "I accidently spilled the suitcase full of dust!" Ruby cried., while Arctic laughed at the incident "Big brother! Sis is being mean to me!" Ruby cried to my arms, Arctic couldn't help but laughing harder. "Holy fuck, that was really fun-" Arctic burst out laughing like he was a idiot. Just as he was stopped laughing. Yang looked at Arctic and laughed to, Ruby was crying on a floor like a baby while Arctic laughed out loud. While Weiss saw Ruby, and she jumped into Yang's arms overheard everything and scolded Ruby. once again before giving her a pamphlet on "DUST for Dummies and other Inadequate Individuals". Ruby tried to make amends. "Can we be friends? My name is Ruby Rose!" reintroducing herself to Weiss, "No." Weiss sarcastically scoffed at her offer and insulted Jaune at the same time. Jaune, however, seemed oblivious to her sarcasm, having only caught the part about "cute boys". Arctic wondered why Weiss was acting like this. 'This is not normal, Ill talk to her about it.' he thought.

Ozpin stepped onto the stage and gave his welcoming speech, which was rather blunt. He stated that all he saw in the students was wasted energy in need of purpose, and that knowledge would only carry them so far. Ruby, Yang, and Arctic all noticed that something seemed off about Ozpin. "Don't you think that he was acting weird?" Yang told us. "Yeah, I think he was hiding something, I think." Arctic said.

After the speech, Glynda Goodwitch instructed the students to gather in the ballroom and prepare for tomorrow's initiation.

Later, as the students were getting ready for bed, Yang and Ruby chatted about feeling like they were having a sleepover. "I'm just writing letters to the gang back at signal." She said, while Yang was squealing at her. "Oh my god, that's cute!" She said after getting hit by a pillow by Ruby. " I also made friends, well, one friend and that was Jaune." Ruby said sadly. "Hey at least you got a friend." Arctic told her. "Counting Weiss, she's like a negative friend for me." Ruby told me sadly. I patted her head. "There no such thing about thinking Weiss about a negative friend." I told her. She smiled at the words I gave her. They also talked about Ruby making friends." When they noticed Blake Belladonna lighting some candles to read her book, Yang dragged Ruby over to her in the hopes of making a new friend. Arctic watched from a safe distance.

Blake just wanted to be left alone, but Ruby was able to make a connection with her by saying she liked reading as well, and that the stories about heroes Yang used to read to her were part of the reason she wanted to be a Huntress. Arctic also went over to apologize to the black-haired girl.

"Hey I'm really sorry about them, my sisters are just looking for friends." Arctic told her. She smiled and replied "No worries, Blake Belladonna, whats yours?" Blake introduced herself. "Arctic Rose, used to be Takanashi, but I left the family due to the Abuse." Arctic said, having flashbacks to it, but he ignored it. Blake gasps in shock. "Im sorry to hear about that." She told me. "It's fine, its in the past now." Arctic said. "Have fun reading that book that contains a hint of smut." Arctic smirked, while she widen her eyes and blushes a bit

"How did you know this book contains it?" She asked me. Arctic smirked. "I may or maybe have like a a lot of books back home, but I still have it." he said, showing her the books. Her eyes widen and snatches the book from me and red all the pages. "Holy, is this the premium version?!" she exclaims, I nodded. "You can have them, I already red all the book, and I don't wanna tell the spoilers." he said, she squeals and gave Arctic a tight of a hug. "Thank you, Thank you!" she said.

"Uh, Blake? I think your hugging me too tight, don't you think?" Arctic said, clearly needed air. Blake notices his face turned purple, when she blushed deeply and let go of the hug. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" She said clearly covering her face. "It's fine, I got used to it. I chuckled. "Goodnight Blake." I said, going to sleep.

However, Blake reminded Ruby that the real world is not a fairy tale. Ruby responded by stating that part of their job was to make it that way. Yang hugged Ruby tightly in excitement, but Ruby found her too clingy and punched her sister in the jaw. The two broke out into a comedic fistfight. While Arctic was sleeping.

Weiss walked in on the commotion, complaining that they were being too loud while everyone else was trying to sleep. Yang started an argument with Weiss, who claimed that Ruby was hazardous to her health, the episode ended as Blake blew out the candles.
