It wouldn't be the same again, it never would.

Draco would be too overwhelmed with all he has put her through, and she would always have missing puzzle pieces that doesn't give her the information she needs.

They could try, to go back to how things were. But it will never be as it was before.

Perhaps it would be better, or worse.

"When." I tapped my fingers against eachother.

"Soon, I promise. Soon." He whispered again.

"I want to know now."

"Do you really." He said, taking my hand and leading me to the Gryffindor common room.

It wasn't that far of a walk, but I was tired so it made things worse. "Where are we going." I questioned.

"You said you wanted to know. I'm taking you to the person responsible for it." His footsteps grew louder as he began to stomp instead of walk.

The anger in his voice was visible, the tight grip on my hand, the stomping. Why was he so mad.

And then I understood what he meant when we walked through the painting, Hermione running and rushing up the stairs once she saw the two of us together.

He casted a spell which brought her back to her place on the couch.

Then another one which tied her to it.

He dragged me to a couch in-front of her, placing me to sit down as he sat next to me.

"Now, Hermione, this is how things are going to go."

He pulled out a small case of a clear colorless liquid, it didn't even smell like anything. It just looked like water, but we all knew what is was.

"You see this, Hermione, is Hogwarts finest,"

He paused.

"Veritaserum,"

Another pause.

"Took me around a month to make it. So let's put it to good use shall we."

But before he could say another word, I blacked out myself. The story replaying in my head before I even got a chance for it to be told to me by Hermione.

~

He jumped a second to dodge the spell before Hermione sent one towards me, he shoved me aside so it wouldn't hit me.

I sent a stupify charm towards her, before she dodged it and paused.

"You don't know who Malfoy is, Nova, and if you did, you would be thanking me."

"What?" I questioned.

"I'm not sorry for what i'm about to do." Hermione inched towards me slowly.

"Hermione no." Draco yelled.

"Oblivate." Was the last words I heard before the spell winded out of the wand, and hit me straight in the chest.

~

I fluttered my eyes open, holding my head in my hands, overwhelmed.

Draco forced her the Veritaserum, then sitting back down.

As I tilted my head up, Hermione's face instantly dropped. Did she know how to read minds too, and if so, then why couldn't I feel anything.

"Nov-"

"I thought we were friends?" I choked, my voice increased greatly.

"We... are?" She tried to force out a lie.

I sat up from the couch, walking over to her and grabbing her jaw.

"No. No, you don't get to sit here strapped up and lie to my face." My tone breaking while I felt the tears start to travel up to my waterline.

"I was trying to save you Nova."

"From what!" I screamed out, not being able to take it any longer.

"Draco."

I turned back at him, his face slowly growing concerned. Whatever Hermione was about to say next, wasn't going to be good.

"He cheated on you, and then got you locked up, then sat there in-front of your face and used the cruciatus curse on you, recorded a tape proving he had no feelings for you, absolutely none,"

I stared at Draco while she kept talking. I guess he didn't think the Veritaserum through.

I turned around to face her again, my lips now trembling.

"And that's not even the worse part." Hermione chuckled, laughing in my face.

My tears held on to the brim, begging not to fall.

But I had no control over them, once the first one came rolling down my cheek, the rest followed.

I closed my eyes for a brief second, sucking in any air I could get before it was taken from me, the way hermione took my memories from me.

"While you two were on the run, and he kept leaving,"

She hesitated again, pausing. As if she was purposely trying to tease me.

"He got a new task."

I turned to Draco again, who's eyes were now glossier than i've ever seen, a salty tear disappearing into his skin as it rolled down his left cheek quickly.

And I just stared at him, and I stared and stared and stared.

Up until the point he looked threatened by me.

"He has to kill you."

And that's when my mind fogged up, not making sense.

And then I cried, and I sobbed embarrassingly in-front of the two of them, entering a state of insanity.

Until Draco stood up, yelling at Hermione with words I was too scared to comprehend. All I could hear was distant voices and ringing that swallowed me whole.

I couldn't make out a single word up until 5 minutes later, when Hermione laughed sinisterly. But her laugh, her laugh was odd. It didn't sound like her.

And Draco knew it too, because he immediately looked at me once her chuckle, turned into a stream of laughter.

Then her face starting shifting, and her hair grew shorter, and a whole new person was revealed.

"And that's where you went wrong Draco, letting me find out, and being foolish enough to not recognize the Veritaserum you gave me, was never the real deal."

He looked confused, and shocked. But it all made sense when she pulled out an exact replica of the same tiny bottle he had forced her a few minutes ago.

"You see, I switched it out with water the other night, you're so naive. Really keeping the door unlocked while you're in the middle of a deep, deep sleep? Pathetic."

"Pansy. What the hell." Everything around me was just too much and I just couldn't even talk anymore.

"Let's go, Nova, now." He grabbed my hand, ushering is out of the common room quickly.

We arrived at his room, while he frantically looked for something, I don't know what though.

"What are you—" My voice drifted away, as he kept his pace rushing around the room.

"Shh."
