Exploring Castle Rock

After dinner i went upstairs to my room to finishing all my unpacking. As i was pulling clothes outof boxes and putting them into drawers and my closet I was thinking about how excited i am for tomorrow. This town will be a good new start with me, no annoying friends always talking about makeup or clothes but instead having fun like kids should do when they are 12 or 13. Sometimes or most of the time i'm treated like a child because my sister is youger so then automatically my parents treat my like i'm a baby. With my old friend she had a younger brother the same age as my sister (6) and my friend was treated like an adult, but its the opposite for me but I get ignored and forgotten about still. I slowly placed all my clothes in the drawers making sure they are folding perfectly and in the right drawers, pants in the bottom drawer , shorts in the second drawer, long- sleeve shirts in the 3rd drawer, short-sleeve shirts in the 4th drawer, and the rest in the 5th drawer. By the time I was done it was already almost 10, so I decided to start getting ready for bed. I got on my pajamas and brushed my teeth and hair then got into bed excited for tomorrow. When I woke up it was 8:52 i still have some time till I go meet the boys so I closed my eyes and eventually felt my self falling asleep again but I didn't stop myself. When I woke up again it was 11:03!! I jumped out of bed and took a really quick shower then dried it as fast as I could. After I through on some jeans and flowy whitish colored tank top and my jean jacket. By the time I was doing with all of that is was 11:47 and I ran downstairs to eat breakfast and saw my mom putting pancakes on a plate. "Hey honey you sleep in today don't you have to go meet your friends soon." my mom says right when I walk in the kitchen. "Ya are those for me I have to get going soon." I reply quickly. "Ya I just warmed them up for you." She says while taking out a fork and putting it on the plate. I don't say anything and sit down and eat the pancakes very quickly while my mom watches me. "Slow down you gonna choke." She says but I ignore her I still need to brush through my hair and brush my teeth and I only have 10 minutes and I really don't want to be late. Also it's weird for me to eat this much I also try to not eat to much. This is very important to me because I'm new and have no friends so I don't want to be late or they won't like me. Or maybe I'm being paranoid. I finish my 2 pancakes in about 5 minutes with my milk and I just have 8 minutes to get ready for the boys coming over. I run back upstairs brush my hair and teeth then run down the stairs managing to slip down a few of them since I'm just wearing socks. " Hey mom do you think I could have some money? " I ask while slipping in my shoes. "For what?" she asks blankly. "In case we go get food later." I respond. "You just ate." She always does this but I really not in the mood to fight with her. "Mom please you don't have to give me that much but I may be with them for a while and I'm gonna get hungry and you don't want them having to pay for me." I fight back trying to push to give me the money. "Okay here." she says while giving me a dollar. "Thanks mom love you." I say running back upstairs and checking to see if I look ok. I walked back downstairs feeling better cause o still have some time before they come get me so I just sit down at the table in the kitchen. My mom is just standing at the sink doing the dishes. A few minutes go by and I look at the clock at it is 12:02 they should be coming any minute. At 12:05 I hear a knock at the screen door. I get up say bye to my mom and walk down the hall to go answer it. I saw Chris, Gordie, and Teddy but no Vern. "Hey guys!!" I say walking out the door. " Hey Dawn ready to go explore Castle Rock." Teddy responds. "Ya! Where's Vern?" I question. "Oh he's looking for his pennies." Chris answers. "Pennies?" I ask confused. "Ya he put a jar of pennies under his porch and made a map but his mom threw away the map a while ago and he wants to look for them but he said he will meet us later." Gordie answers. "Ok well let's go!"

We walked around the town for a while, with them pointing out each shop, even though I've seen them already but I don't mind. We got lunch around 3 and it is now almost 5. While we walked we talked about what life was like at my old town, who were my friends, what is my family like stuff like that. "Did you have a boyfriend in Indiana?" Chris asks while we were just walking in silence. "No all the boys there are jerks well I thought so anyways, my friends not so much." I respond honestly. We continue walking around then we ended up at the treehouse. Now it's Chris, Teddie, Gordie, and myself sitting in the treehouse. "So what do you think of Castle Rock?" Chris asks nudging me playfully. "Well so far I like it better than Indiana even thought I haven't been to school yet." I respond thinking about what the kids will think of me. "You'll be fine everyone will like you. Well we like you." Chris said with a warming smile which I returned. I looked over and Teddy was being pretty quite but I didn't want to say anything. "What time is it?" I ask. "Almost 6:30." Gordie answers looking at a magazine maybe a comic. "I have to go! My mom wanted me home for dinner at 6:00... sorry guys bye I had a lot of fun today I guess I'll see you at school bye!!" I climb down the ladder and start running home. Once I got down the hill I started walking a slower. the time flew by I had a lot of fun today. I was replaying the day in my head as I walked home. Once I got home my mom was sitting on the porch . "Where were you, you missed dinner." my mom said once she saw me. "Sorry I guess I lost track of time." I respond. "It's ok just go eat." "ok thanks mom." I run into the house and sit down to eat alone. After I go to my room and change into my pjs and lay in my bed. Boy am I tired... it doesn't take me long to fall asleep.
