Chapter thirty six

My heart started to beat rapidly in my chest as my eyes hardened as I stared far into the woods, trying to figure out where all the rustling was coming from. My body tensed up as my spirits stood on guard, keeping their eyes and ears wide open as the worst case scenario played out in front of my eyes but I knew that whatever was about to happen, it would be kept under my control, I hoped.

Before I could comprehend what was happening and what that noise could be, both Ben and Xander bodies were on front of me. Their bulky frames towering over me, eyes darting everywhere but down at me as Ben kept me close enough to his body. Their shoulders tensed and eyes glowing as they tried to pick up the scent of the intruder that had intruded our personal space

My body went into defence mode, shoulders tense, eyes narrowed at the huge green bush only for a hug black and white husky to jump out

My eyes raised as I stared at the pup confused and amused

His pricing blues glared directly at me while his face was scrunched up in a -what seemed to be a threatening- scowl. His black and white fur made his icy blue eyes pop out is such a beautiful matter, making me nearly aww at the sight of the dog like wolf. His fur was damp, he must have for a swim before he stumbled upon us

His brows pushed together in a very angry matter giving of an what seemed to be imitating look?

Ben sighed from beside me as I could see the stress physically leaving his room as he noticed that it was only a wolf and not any manger threat. He took his seat again, his eyes closed as he leaned back into the tree, there was something on his mind and he didn't share it with me. I wonder what was bothering him

Xander looked over at me amused before following Ben's lead

I stood where i was previously standing with my eyes locked onto the husky

My eye brow raised when the large husky gave a question growl making Ben laugh more to himself "Your not the only pup I have met in my life." The full grown husky snarled showing his canine at Ben, offended that he was compared to a small vulnerable looking pup

I ignored the small growls that came out of the husky mouth before gazing back up at the sky. A few minutes went by like that before I got a whiff of my mates sents

My eyes nearly pop out their sockets as their sweet masculine sent's hit me before wrapped around me, making my heart feel heavy and warm at the same time

I also felt Ben and Xander go stiff from beside me. My only guess was that there own mates where here with Hayden and Jayden by them

I bit down on my lower lip harshly when tears welled up in my eyes 'are you really going to reject them...?' Skylar asked saddened at the fact this will probably be the last time we might ever see them again or feel the mate bond with them

I didn't respond because whatever I would said would just hurt her feelings, so I decided to let her question slid by unnoticed and unanswered

Yet again I felt Ben and Xander come back to my side. Ben pulled me behind him, shielding me behind his body "cover your sent, please." He softly demanded, bleeding me with eyes to move follow his order

I did as he asked me but I stood beside him rather than behind him

From the corner of my eye I saw Xander's hand trembling in fear. A nervous wreck for meeting his mate, again

I softly grabbed his warm hands in mines and he instantly held mine in a death grip making my knuckles instantly turn a pale snowy white colour

I smiled a small reassuring smile letting him know that me and Ben were still here by his side
