"I ride the edge, my speed goes in the red.

Hot blood, these veins, my pleasure is their pain."

The past two months had been a nuisance for the Fire department of Seoul city. About fifteen arson cases happened under their noses, and the firefighters were already exhausted dealing with all the regular circumstances plus the criminal acts.

The fire captain, Bang Christopher Chan, was already suspecting all the cases were correlated. The criminal seemed to have some sort of signature, but the captain couldn't quite find a pattern on his own, to know when the next fire would break. They were always at empty buildings, in the middle of the night, when no one would suspect. Different parts of the city were affected, from the most abandoned areas to the wealthiest ones.

When one of Christopher's best men got injured in the last arson attack, they knew more serious measures would have to be taken.

"Sir, we can't keep like this anymore. Jisung could have died there, for God's sake!"

Minho's eyes were red, as the other man had never seen before. Chan couldn't quite tell if it was from sadness or rage, but his co-worker looked like he was on the verge of a breakdown. The captain tried to calm him down, but it was of no use. Minho shook his head incredulously while caressing the gold band on his ring finger.

"And if you're going to tell me we're risking our lives every single day, don't even start. We're risking our lives to save people, to save other lives, and not to die because of a fucking idiot who thinks it's funny to play as Human Torch, dammit!"

Jisung was Minho's partner in work and life, and seeing the man on a hospital bed after the accident that happened that night made the older completely lose his mind. His frustration level was at the maximum.

"You know what?", he looked straight up at his chief. "You should go after that friend of yours."

Chan thought for a moment and looked at Minho, a little confused. The only face that came to his mind was the one of an angelical, freckled man. One that would sometimes keep him up at night.

"Who are you talking about? Felix?"

"No, not your boyfriend, the other one. The one you said is the best detective in Seoul."

Chan massaged his nape, a little uncomfortable with the comment, and cleared his throat.

"Listen here, first... you know he's not my boyfriend. And second, you must be talking about Changbin. I'll contact him tomorrow first thing in the morning."

Said that, Minho nodded his head, then left the waiting room. He would stay the night in the hospital with Jisung while the man was still unconscious. Hopefully, as the doctors said, he would be awake by the next day after receiving some more oxygen.

Christopher took the phone out of his pocket and checked the time. It was around four in the morning, and he still had a long trip until home. He saved a quick note on his screen to remember he had to see Changbin as soon as he woke up. This, if the man even had the chance to get some sleep at all that day.
