A/N: basically just post-canon WoH WenZhou fooling around on the mountain a.k.a. another pwp 😂
------------------------------
The summit of the snowy mountain was white as far as one could see. Since time immemorial, the bone-chilling temperature never once thawed, even in the days when the sky was clear and sunny.
On this mountain, a hidden shelter of some sort was built a long time ago by an ancient dynasty. Running deep into the body of the mountain, it was meant to keep their knowledge and wisdom safe for generations to come, and by some twist of fate, it was later found by a band of youth who used it to store the secrets of various martial arts taken from numerous sects in the jianghu—which became the source of a bloody, long-lasting conflict among them and others who declared themselves as righteous heroes.
But that was a story of the past. Now, that secret armory at the peak of the mountain, forgotten by all but a few individuals, had become a home to a pair of immortals who would spend an eternity there surrounded by ice and frost.
Inside one of the many halls within the massive library, Zhou Zishu stood facing a tall shelf filled with dozens of old books and scrolls from the bottom to the top row. The content of the shelf itself was quite disorganized; some books came from the ancient times with their letters barely readable anymore due to age, a few scrolls belonged to renowned schools and temples teaching of unique martial arts, while some other scriptures talked of strange techniques unbeknownst to most men roaming the pugilist world outside. Each was different to the other; a single look into this place loaded with near-unlimited information could easily make one feel overwhelmed.
But having no foreseeable "end" to his own life, Zhou Zishu could leisurely browse through everything stored in this armory whenever he wanted, entertaining himself by reading through things he had never known before despite the vast knowledge possessed by both the Four Seasons Manor and the Window of Heaven.
Today was one of those moments when the former leader of the Window of Heaven felt like spending his time drowning into those books. With his posture relaxed, Zhou Zishu took one into his hands and flipped through the yellowing pages one by one, completely disregarding the environment around him. Perhaps he really was too immersed in his own little world; he hadn't the slightest idea that a shadow was approaching him from behind, quietly and stealthily. All of a sudden, something covered his eyes and his vision was swallowed in total darkness.
Zhou Zishu remained silent for a while. If something like this were to happen in the past, he would've flipped over and beaten his assailant to death as an instinctive reaction. Right now, however, not only he stayed in perfect serenity despite having his entire sight taken away, the corners of his lips also curled into a little smile.
"Are you three years old?" he said with a sigh.
Upon his remark, light returned to his eyes and he could see the tall shelf filled with books once again, including the one scripture in his hands. Behind him, there was a familiar laugh, snickering in amusement after hearing his response.
Then, someone playfully circled his arms around him.
"A-Xu, how did you know it was me?" Wen Kexing rested his chin on his shoulder.
"There are just two of us on this mountain. Who else could it be but you? Our ancestor's lingering spirit?"
"Eh, you never know. It might as well be them."
The nonsense spouting from this person's lips was endless, Zhou Zishu had long learnt to pay no mind to it, lest he'd be dragged into pointless banter. Knowing that he was being ignored, Wen Kexing snuggled closer to him, trying to draw his attention.
