Saturday, May 12th
the smell of breakfast surrounded the apartment. stephanie was in the kitchen, per usual, cooking up a small breakfast before the girls headed off for practice.
"good morning, angel! good morning, cas!"
she exclaimed to the two girls as they slowly made their way to the table where their plates waited for them."morning steph"
the two said at the same time.stephanie happily took a seat at the table, already digging into her meal, "nova headed out early to catch up on the routines she missed"
casilda scoffed, taking a bite of her toast. "that's gonna take more than a day. i'll be shocked if the coach even lets her perform"
the three girls shared a laugh.
nova hadn't come to practice for weeks, not for a serious reason. just because she felt she was 'losing interest' in cheer but once her grade started slipping, she decided to start coming back only for the sake of her grades."we haven't done anything too complicated. you know her, she'll probably have it down by performance day" angeline chimed in.
ah, yes. performance day. it was the cheersquad's annual concert before summer break, it was required for the whole school to attend.
"speaking of performance day... is jay coming?" casilda nudged angeline as she spoke, making the other roll her eyes.
"wouldn't you like to know" she teased back before getting up to clean off her dish, "steph i'm so serious when i say, if this college thing doesn't work you could start a restaurant!"
"oh no.. i could never. i just enjoy cooking as a side hobby" she responded bashfully, finishing up her food, "teaching is what i really want to do and i'm sure it'll work out"
cas and angel shared a knowing look, smiling at their friend.
out of all four of them, stephanie was the one who knew what she wanted in life.
i mean someone has to...
after breakfast, the three got dressed in their outfits for dance practice. the outfits were short, red, almost like a short-dress combo, with R on the stomach to represent the schools' name.
they all made their way to the schools' field by foot since they lived in a dorm to save money...
which ended up backfiring on them
they often got into arguments still about whether or not an apartment would've been a better option but, they were already in their junior year so what's the point of turning back now?
"hey! hey! cas! wait up!" a male voice called behind the trio. although casilda tried to keep walking the other two stopped to look at who this mystery man was.
cas knew they would pull that and let out an embarrassed sigh before turning around as if she just heard him calling her name, "oh heyyy aiden. long time no see!" she responded.
the guy looked confused for a short minute, opening and closing his mouth before finally speaking, "actually.. my name is adrian but um.. yeah, it's been a while hasn't it?" he crossed his arms, still somewhat catching his breath from the short chase
