(Y/N) watched as Jaune took on Cardin, and Jaune was beaten badly. "Better luck next time Jauney Boy," said Cardin. He walked away, then he 'accidentally' shoved Jaune back to the floor. (Y/N) then decided to have fun with him on his next victim. After that, they all went to lunch, where Nora was telling a story. "So there we were, at night," she started. "It was day," corrected Ren. "There were Ursa." "They were Beowolves." "Dozens of them." "Two of them." "They were no match. In the end, Ren and I made a boatload of lien selling Ursa skin rugs." "She's been having this recurring dream for a while now." Jaune was playing with his food when Pyrrha said, "You okay Jaune?" "Yeah," said Jaune, "I'm fine, see?" He then forced a fake smile. "It's Cardin, isn't it?" asked Pyrrha. "Cardin Winchester? He just plays practical jokes, that's all." "He's a bully," said Ruby. "Name me one time he bullied me." (Y/N) then showed some videos of Cardin picking on Jaune. Jaune then said, "I didn't land that far from the school!" Just then, they heard Cardin and his team picking on a Faunus with Rabbit ears. (Y/N) took action. "I told you they were real!" said Sky. "WHAT A FREAK!!!" said Cardin. (Y/N) then stuck his suction cup on Cardin, and said, "Want to go for a ride?" He then spun his mid section, and said, "KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET INSIDE AT ALL TIMES!!" Soon, he let go, and Cardin was thrown out of the door, and (Y/N) said, "TO THE MOON, MORON!!" He then rejoined the group. Jaune then got up and said, "I'm fine guys, really. I'll be in my dorm." He then left.

In history class, Professor Oobleck was rushing around the class, saying things at a thousand mph. (Y/N) was recording it, so he could translate it for his work. "Now," said Professor Oobleck while running around the room, "who here has been discriminated against because of faunus heritage?" Some of the students then raised their hands. "Dreadful, now remember, it is ignorance like this that breeds this violence. Now who can tell me where the turning point of the Great War is theorized to be?" Weiss then raised her hand and said, "The Battle at Fort Castle." "Excellent. Now, who can tell me what advantage the Faunus had over the General in the war?" Jaune was being hit by paper footballs from Cardin. "Mr. Arc, so you finally decided to take part in class. So what is the answer?" asked Professor Oobleck. "The Reason, that the faunus won the war was..." Jaune thought hard, and he saw Pyrrha with her hands around her eyes. He then looked at (Y/N) who made a projection of eyes. "E-e-eye sight! Good eye sight!" "Good answer Mr. Arc, but not correct. Mr. Winchester, do you know the answer?" "Well," said Cardin, "I know it's easier to train an animal than a soldier." (Y/N) then blasted a stun at his legs. He then said, "ONE MORE COMMENT LIKE THAT, AND IT WILL BE MAXIMUM EXTERMINATION!!!!!" "Mr. (L/N), see me after class!!" "You're not the most open minded of most, are you Cardin," said Pyrrha. "What, you got something wrong with that?" asked Cardin. "No I have the answer, it's night vision. Most faunus are well known for their night vision." "The general was young and inexperienced," said Blake, "he made the grave mistake of attacking the faunus in the night. Maybe if he actually payed attention in school, he wouldn't be remembered as a failure." The class erupted into laughter. "Mr. Winchester," said Oobleck, "you, Mr. (L/N), and Mr. Arc all see me after class."

"I don't know what's gotten into you, but this is a school!! We are here to learn!! I want a 5 page essay on the White Fang, on my desk, by Friday." Cardin then shoved Jaune to the ground, and (Y/N) ran over Cardin's foot. That night, Pyrrha helped Jaune on the roof and looked at the sight of Beacon. "The view is beautiful," said Pyrrha. "Look Pyrrha," said Jaune, "I really don't belong here." "What are you talking about? You made it to Beacon." "No I didn't! I lied. I never went to a combat school, I never trained, I didn't earn my place here. I got my hands on some fake transcripts." Pyrrha looked at Jaune with confusion. "But, why Jaune?" "Because I come from a long family of heroes, and I wanted to join them." "Then let me help you Jaune." "No, I need to do this on my own. I'm tired of being the guy that needs help. I have to do this on my own, so I don't need any help." Pyrrha then sighed in defeat and left Jaune.

"Jaune!" Jaune turned and saw the last person he wanted to see: Cardin. Cardin then got Jaune in a headlock and gave him a friendly noogie. "You know," he said, "you are more daring than I thought buddy." "Buddy?" asked Jaune. "Yeah, we're friends now. And friends do things for each other. Now I couldn't get that essay done for Oobleck." "Great, just great." Over the next few days, Jaune was "hanging out" with team CRDL more than his own team. One day, they all headed out to the Forest of Forever Fall. It was called that because whatever time of year it was, it looked like fall. Professor Goodwitch, the assistant headmaster of Beacon, assisted the students that went to the forest. The Teams that came were RWBY + _, JNPR, and CRDL. Everyone got into pairs to gather a single jar of sap from the trees while Jaune was dragged off by Team CRDL. Jaune got 7 jars of sap with him, but there were only 5 of them. Cardin then lead Jaune to where Pyrrha and (Y/N) were. (Y/N) saw Jaune dragged off, so he decided to keep Pyrrha company, seeing as he didn't have a partner. "Them?" asked Jaune. "Yeah," said Cardin, "little miss red head know-it-all, and robot, think's he's so special." Jaune, who was tired of Cardin picking at him, instead threw the jar of sap at Cardin. Jaune was then beat very hard, but after 30 punches to the face, he activated his Aura and shielded himself. Before anyone else could do anything, an Ursa Major, attracted by the smell of the sap on Cardin and his temper, separated Cardin from the group. The rest of his team then ran off and ran into the rest of the students. "What's going on?" asked Yang as she grabbed Sky by his collar. "URSA!" he cried, "IT'S GOT CARDIN!" "Jaune!" said Pyrrha. "QUICK!" said Ruby, "go get Professor Goodwitch!" So, Ruby, Weiss, Pyrrha, and (Y/N) headed off while the others headed to find Goodwitch. Meanwhile, despite Cardin being a complete jerk to him, Jaune was defending Cardin with his life. The rescue group got to the scene, they could see Cardin on the ground unconscious and Jaune about to slash at the Ursa, but Pyrrha held up her hand, and Jaune's shield then pulled up and blocked the Ursa's claw, and then sliced it's head off. Cardin woke up to see Jaune finish the fight. Jaune then held out his hand and helped Cardin up and said, "Don't ever mess with my Team... My Friends ever again." Cardin nodded and ran away back to Professor Goodwitch. "Wait, what was that?" asked Weiss. "Well," said Pyrrha, "Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs. My Semblance is polarity." "Wow," said Ruby, "she can control poles." "No, you dunce," said Weiss, "it means she has magnetism." "Magnets are cool too." Pyrrha then walked away. "Wait," said Weiss, "shouldn't we tell someone?" "Or," said Pyrrha, "We could just let this be our little secret." The heroes looked at each other, and shrugged and headed off.

That night, Jaune was on the roof again, when Pyrrha joined him. "No Cardin tonight?" she asked, "I thought you two were good friends." "Pyrrha," said Jaune, "I've been a horrible team mate, and friend. I was wondering if you would still help me out?" Pyrrha then tripped Jaune off his feet. "Well, first," she said, "Your stance is off." She then helped Jaune up from the roof to his feet. Their training and friendship had begun.
