As I stepped into the elevator there he was. Without even a chance to scream, his hand was over my mouth and an injection of some vile sort was being inserted into my neck. "Let the game's begin Ana," he chuckled darkly. As my eye's began to flutter shut and I was beginning to fall into unconsciousness, fear attacked my soul.

------------

It had been 3 weeks. Three uneventful weeks with no communication from David or his crack head junkies. Ava, Aaiden and I were beginning to fall into a peaceful routine. Work,Gym,Beach,Parties. I was actually beginning to enjoy California life. I had my best friends by my side and tons of surfer hottie's to feast my eyes on, although I found myself taking an interest into one boy alone. Aaiden.

Sigh. This boy. The only thing that plagued my thoughts and dreams at night, well except for the nightmares.

The nightmares. They had started back since my last warning from David. He haunted my dreams every night. I would wake up screaming in bed next to Aaiden only to feel his comforting muscular arms wrapped around my body, stroking my hair. No matter how hard I pretended, I knew that David bothered me, and that soon, very soon he would execute his plan. I didn't know what he planned to do with me and Ava, but I knew it would be big. It was David, and he always had a plan.

The most recent nightmare happened a few days ago for the first time and it still bothered me, even when I was awake. I could vividly recall everything that happened in that dream.

I woke up to the overpowering scent of gasoline, I tried to get up but my hounds and feet were bound to a metal table of sorts. The smell of vomit and blood infiltrated my nostrils and the heat was almost unbearable. I could make out no shape or hear any sound. It was pitch black and so quiet that you could hear only my heavy breathing. Panic rose in my throat. "Get me out of here!" I screamed, nearly chocking on the tears that began to rush from my eyes. Silence. The deafening kind. Then, his voice, clear like the ringing of a bell and as menacing as ever rang out. "There's no one to help you princess. Not anymore."

And then I'd wake up. Sweating and crying. And I hated myself for being so weak.

"All I'm saying Ana is that you need to relax, you're so uptight these days," Ava replied flippantly applying sunscreen to her perfect skin. She'd been on my ass for the past couple of days for being 'overprotective'.
"Ava you don't get it do you? David is vicious. And you of all people should know that, he wants us dead. Don't you get it? I have to be cautious," I sighed exasperated.

Ignoring me completely she continued massaging herself with the sunscreen, making sure not to miss a spot. I groaned and tried to relax as much as I could. Even though I didn't want to admit it, she was right. I was being way to worrisome. Three weeks had gone by and not one threat from David since then. Maybe he just did that to scare me. He probably forgot all about me by now. But I knew better than that and something in the back of my mind kept reminding me that he wasn't gone.

"I'm going to meet Aaiden by the water," I said leaving her relaxing on the sand. I threw off my tank top and shorts exposing my Black and Red bikini then jogged towards Aaiden.

Aaiden.

The hunk of muscles and god sent looks. I quickly, shook the thoughts out of my head. "Best friend with benefits," I mumbles, reminding myself. I approached him. He was talking to some girls who clearly wanted a piece of the goodness. Deciding to have a little fun, I snuck being him and jumped on his back. Stunned, he took a moment to recover than turned around and swept me in his arms. I giggled and tickled him until he put me down. The crowd of girls apparently jealous, took off leaving my Aaiden and I alone.

"Quite the attraction huh?" I smirked punching him lightly.

"Well you know, the babes love me," he replied wiggling his eyebrows, "I hope you weren't jealous princess."

I blushed profusely muttering an idiot under my breath much to his amusement. We took a walk down the beach away from all the surfers and tourists until we settled in a quiet spot. "Are you scared?" He asked.
I didn't even have to ask him of what. I already knew. He was talking about David. And what he would do to me."Yes," I breathed resting my head on his shoulder while he put his arm around me. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you, not now, not ever," he whispered, nuzzling me closer. I didn't reply. I just simply breathed in his scent. A mixture of seawater and mint. Refreshing. I could stay like that with him forever but then it started to rain, completely ruining the moment. "Oh great," I groaned , as we hopped off the sand. Aaiden looked at me, enterwining our fingers and then we ran, laughing all the up to the resort.

----
When we got there, Ava was already in the lobby, dry as ever and flirting with Alejandro as usual. She paid no mind to us as we walked in. Dustin, who happened to be behind the counter called on Aaiden. "I'm just going to go upstairs and take a shower and get warm," I told him, planting a hurried kiss on his cheek. He blushed and nodded then headed over to his brother. Feeling light and fuzzy I skipped towards the elevator, patiently awaiting the doors to open whilst humming to my favorite song "four five seconds". The doors opened and I barely noticed the tall, muscular man standing behind me dressed in black until it was to late.

There he was. Without even a chance to scream, his hand was over my mouth and an injection of some vile sort was being inserted into my neck. "Let the game's begin Ana," he chuckled darkly. As my eye's began to flutter shut and I was beginning to fall into unconsciousness, fear attacked my soul.
