- "shh! we're gonna get caught!"you whisper to jake, who had wrapped his arms around your midriff and was slowly kissing your neck. you knew if you stayed there too long, someone would catch you both- but oh lord, his tongue on your neck made you forget any panic you had.
he gave your earlobe a tender nip before letting go, well aware of what would happen if he didn't stop.it was the final day of the cabin trip, and you were trying to pack your belongings. however, you were quickly distracted when jake entered the room. the rest of the trip had been intense- weather it be because of the long hikes the boys loved so dearly (you did not so much), the copious amounts of alcohol consumed or the long song writing sessions they conducted, pushing yourself and ronnie out of the room ("you can't rush perfection, girls!")
the trip was intense but the private moments you shared with jake pushed you through it. a tender kiss on the deck, a shared look as you entered the room, his hand brushing across yours when he walked past you. just intimate, precious moments you had been waiting for for a very long time.
you were sad to leave the cabin, but excited to get home and find a place to live; while the kiszkas were incredibly kind to let you live with them, you knew you couldn't overstay your welcome.
after coffee and breakfast, everyone began packing their bags into the car, sadly saying goodbye to the cabin as you locked the door and left the keys for the owner to pick up. you took a quick smoke break before you got in the car, appreciating the surroundings and the wonderful views. you were very sad to leave.
you were unsure of what your relationship with jake actually was, and even more unsure of how he would behave once you were home. maybe he got caught up in the excitement of being away, and didn't actually want you. just the fun parts.
it was a lingering thought in the back of your mind, but as the navigation time estimate got smaller and smaller, you couldn't help but worry more intensely. you weren't sitting next to him this time around, so you couldn't even judge his facial expressions or how he interacted with you.
the car finally pulled into the familiar driveway, and you felt relief wash over you. once greetings were made, danny and sam actually had to go, as they had their own shared place only ten minutes drive away from the family home. you hugged them tightly and thanked them for a lovely weekend.
you lugged your bags to what was previously ronnie's room, reclaimed as both yours and hers, whenever either of you were staying there. flopping onto the bed, you breathed in the familiar smell of almost your whole childhood.
you don't remember much of your biological parents, just that they shouted a lot. you don't even really remember their deaths, because you were only seven.
after they died, you moved to frankenmuth to live with an elderly aunt, who loved you. you missed her a hell of a lot more than your parents. that's when you and josh met, at eight years old.
the little girl was sitting below a large tree, crying. her knee was scuffed and her face had a large scratch which was bleeding. it was evident to the boy what had happened, and he immediately ran over to help her up.
"hey are you ok? that looked like it hurt!" his hair was wild and curly, and he had a gap in his front teeth. his knees were scuffed too, but the girl could tell he was a child who often threw himself around.
